Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We have office locations in Missouri – St. Louis and Jefferson City, Illinois – Collinsville and Effingham and Kentucky – Louisville and Prestonsburg.
We are looking for a Structural Building Engineer – Project Manager to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities. By leading projects and guiding the next generation of engineers, you will support our mission and developing a better tomorrow.

The Structural Building Project Manager will be an integral part of our Structures/Building Group, leading team members who design various building structure types, and supporting our site development groups with their structural design needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
- Being responsible as the Engineer of Record for project success, signing/sealing calculations and construction documents as required.
- Perform structural analysis and design for building structures
- Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
- Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
- Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
- Working collaboratively with the CDI Operations Leader, Project Development Leader, Project Engineers, and other team members to deliver projects on schedule and budget.
- Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Being able to lead a project that includes collaboration with the team as well as managing tasks and being responsive to client needs.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit
- Project Management experience with structural building projects
- Positive attitude
- Ability to be self-directed with focus on quality while working within a team.
- Highly proficient with structural analysis and design software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while possessing strong interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials (Steel, Cast-in-Place Concrete, Precast Prestressed Concrete), construction methods, structural inspections, and construction document preparation.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a plus but not required).
- Registered PE.
- IL Structural Engineer licensure.
- 8 + years plus of building design experience.
This role can be based out of the Collinsville, IL, Effingham IL, Jefferson City, MO, or St. Louis, MO. The travel expected is up to 10%.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
