Role: As a research analyst within Avasant Research, you will be responsible for writing and editing research reports with a strong focus on data-driven insights. You will combine your deep industry knowledge with AI research tools and data to create world-class research. The ideal candidate will enjoy investigating and writing about current trends in enterprise IT and have a strong editorial eye. You will be comfortable talking to IT professionals about IT financial management and technology trends and be able to discuss their business impact with senior executives. Previous work experience may include roles in research firms, journalism, IT management, consulting, or academia.
In the role of research/data analyst, you will be expected to own your own area of research as well as maintain data repositories for the team This could include Excel sheets, but also more sophisticated tools you select. The role includes: • Investigate and write about current business and IT trends.
- Work with a larger team of writers, editors, SME’s, and freelancers.
- Critically review and provide feedback on reports written by other team members.
- Interview IT professionals and technology providers about current trends and economic factors.
- Build relationships with subject matter experts to aid in the development of new research.
- Maintain Avasant’s proprietary research data
- Build statistical models and Excel spreadsheets
- Work with the team to improve understanding of data and to improve existing practices for data management
Requirements: • 2-4 years of experience in editing the work of others and coaching them to improve the quality of their work.
- Proven experience in innovating editorial processes including through the use of AI.
- Familiarity with business and IT topics such as business process improvement, enterprise software, application development, business intelligence, cloud computing, security, data management, or networking.
- Knowledge of other IT areas such as IT strategic planning, IT financial management, staff planning, cost-justification, and performance metrics is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with Excel along with strong knowledge of statistics.
- Excellent editorial skills, with experience in writing to publication deadlines.
- Experience in survey design and best practices for ensuring quality of response data is a strong plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
