POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Data & AI Engineer who wants to turn diverse data into dependable solutions for pharmaceutical clients.
Your work will power the web applications and dashboards we deliver: connecting sources, developing clear data models and building reliable pipelines that keep client solutions accurate and up to date. You will work closely with analysts, developers and consultants to make complex information accessible and useful.
AI-assisted development will help you move faster, while your engineering judgement will ensure that data and code are tested, traceable and handled securely.
You will report to the Manager, IT & AI Analytics and collaborate with colleagues in Bengaluru, Copenhagen and the US.
KEY FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build the data behind client solutions. Develop and maintain the pipelines and models that power web applications, dashboards and analytical tools.
- Connect diverse sources. Integrate market, sales, scientific publication and other relevant data through APIs, licensed platforms and approved client sources.
- Translate business needs into usable data. Work with analysts and consultants to define metrics, structure datasets and deliver consistent information across applications and dashboards.
- Make updates reliable. Automate ingestion, transformation and validation, with monitoring that helps the team identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Support secure delivery. Apply appropriate access controls and data handling practices, and document sources, transformations and definitions for project handover and client reviews.
- Prepare data for AI-enabled features. Build retrieval and search capabilities where they add value, with attention to data permissions and output quality.
- Improve how we build. Use AI-assisted development and reusable components to accelerate delivery while maintaining tested, maintainable code.
How you will work with AI
You will use AI tools to support coding, transformation logic, testing and documentation. You will review and validate their outputs and use client data only within approved tools and environments.
You may also help build the data foundations for AI features within client applications, such as assistants that retrieve information from approved sources. The aim is practical: useful capabilities supported by reliable data and appropriate controls.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications are essential for the role. Preferred qualifications are an advantage and will strengthen your application.
Required qualifications
- A Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline: B.E.(CSE), B.tech(IT) or MCA – Master of Computer Application
- At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining data pipelines on Azure or other major cloud platforms.
- Practical experience integrating APIs and consolidating data from multiple sources.
- Strong data modelling capabilities, with the ability to translate business requirements and definitions into consistent, reliable metrics.
- Experience implementing automated data testing, version control, and troubleshooting data-related issues.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience using Claude for AI-assisted development of dashboards, applications, or tools would be an advantage. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or healthcare data, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector search technologies would also be beneficial.
