Engagement Product Manager role
What's the opportunity?
We're looking for an Engagement Product Manager who will own the scope, requirements, and business outcomes for agentic AI delivery engagements across RBC. You'll serve as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and engineering squads, translating business problems into well-scoped agent solutions with clear success criteria, then ensuring what ships solves the problem.
At RBC Borealis, you'll be joining the Agentic AI Enablement team, a forward-deployed engineering force that embeds into strategic use cases across Lines of Business. You'll report through the Portfolio & Strategy Lead and be assigned to one or more active engagements depending on complexity. This role blends product management, solutions consulting, and business analysis in a technically complex AI delivery environment. You need to be comfortable in a room with business executives and equally comfortable partnering with engineers on feasibility and trade-offs.
Your responsibilities include:
- Eliciting detailed business requirements from stakeholders and translating them into functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and success metrics
- Partnering with Principal Engineers to validate technical feasibility and jointly produce scoped engagement plans with effort estimates and timelines
- Owning scope integrity throughout delivery, ensuring scope changes are assessed for effort impact before being accepted
- Serving as the day-to-day point of contact between delivery squads and business stakeholders during active engagements
- Validating agent output against business requirements and owning acceptance sign-off
- Driving adoption strategy, communications, and change management to ensure delivered solutions achieve real usage
- Defining and tracking success metrics, reporting value realization post-delivery
- Identifying reusable patterns, agent templates, and productization opportunities across engagements
You're our ideal candidate if you have:
- 5+ years in product management, solutions consulting, business analysis, or engagement management roles within technology delivery organizations
- Experience translating ambiguous business problems into structured requirements and clear success criteria
- Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering teams on feasibility, sizing, and trade-off decisions without owning the technical architecture
- Strong stakeholder management skills with comfort operating across executive and practitioner levels simultaneously
- Experience managing scope, requirements changes, and competing priorities in fast-paced delivery environments
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to run workshops, present recommendations, and drive alignment
- Analytical capability to define meaningful success metrics and track outcomes
- Experience in regulated industries (banking/financial services preferred) with understanding of compliance and governance constraints
Nice to Have:
- Background in professional services, consulting, or managed services where you owned client-facing engagement delivery
- Experience with AI/ML, agentic AI, or data-intensive solution delivery
- Familiarity with agile delivery practices and working embedded within engineering squads
- Experience building product management or solutions practices from scratch in a new or scaling team
What's in it for you?
- Own business outcomes for some of RBC's most high-profile AI investments
- Work at the intersection of business strategy and cutting-edge agentic AI engineering
- Contribute to high-visibility initiatives with direct executive exposure across Lines of Business
- Leaders who support your development through mentoring and career growth opportunities
- Comprehensive Total Rewards Program including competitive compensation, bonuses, flexible benefits, and stock options where applicable
