Agilix Solutions currently has an opening for a Power Products Product Manager at our St. Louis, MO Headquarters. The Power Products Product Manager is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and technical excellence of the product portfolio and serves as the technical liaison between the automation vendors and the distributor.
This role serves as the technical and commercial authority for Variable Frequency Drives and Motor Control Centers products, supporting inside and outside sales teams, OEMs, system integrators, and end users. The position focuses on product selection, availability, lifecycle management, training, and market development, ensuring customers receive the right solutions while meeting distributor sales, margin, and inventory objectives.
This role will report to the Automation Team Leader.
Responsibilities
- Be a point of contact for each business unit: Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) and Motor Control Centers (MCC’s)
- Lead commercial activities to drive product migrations, conversions, and other sales opportunities.
- Identify customer needs and propose solutions to assist in closing business.
- Provide selection and design advice and product support to customers on assigned products.
- Understand and promote complementary product lines.
- Support multiple branch locations in the designated sales territory.
- Analyze market conditions, competitive offerings, determine market share, and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor and advise appropriate inventory levels on designated products.
- Achieve and maintain necessary technical and commercial competencies.
- Transform product and service sales opportunities into system sales where appropriate.
- Support developing product competency plans for inside/outside sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Associates degree in related technical field, or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing experience, electrical distribution experience preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge & understanding of automation standards & terminology.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of electrical concepts specifically around motor control.
- Experience converting electrical one-line diagrams to motor control center line-ups based on customer requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of Rockwell Automation VFD and MCC products is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to support both technical and commercial discussions.
- Ability to influence and guide team members when required.
Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged periods of driving, getting in and out of a vehicle multiple times a day, standing/walking at customer sites, as well as sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
