IT Cyber Security Engineer

Due to continuous growth and expansion, Pharmathen Pharmaceuticals offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to recruit a Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT Systems, Infrastructure & Security team at our Marousi premises.

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity controls to protect sensitive data, intellectual property, manufacturing systems, and regulated environments.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EMA, GDPR) and safeguarding research, clinical, and production environments from cyber threats.

More particularly:

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architecture and controls
• Monitor security events using SIEM tools related to security platforms
• Manage endpoint security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, XDR, identity and network security solutions
• Participate in the design of new applications/ systems, to ensure information security-related requirements are met
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
• Perform risk assessments and support internal/external audits
• Contribute to information protection controls by assisting with DLP policy design and tuning for endpoints, email, and cloud services
• Assist with asset lifecycle security processes, including secure configuration baselines, endpoint protection, and secure decommissioning practices
• Assist with the design and refinement of network segmentation and secure remote access configurations
• Facilitate and monitor the implementation of corporate disaster recovery and business continuity strategy (BCP/DRP) and participate in the execution of the annual DRP/BCP tests
• Perform physical security reviews to determine whether the existing or proposed company facilities are adequately protected
• Support secure cloud adoption (Azure)
• Conduct security awareness training for staff

The ideal candidate should have:

Minimum Qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Computer Engineering or Information Technology based technical discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in a Cybersecurity role as a Vulnerability Assessment Engineer, Application Security Specialist, Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
• Strong knowledge of network security, encryption, IAM, endpoint
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar) Practical knowledge of Microsoft Security Tools and Framework
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GxP, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated environments (preferred)
• Understanding of data integrity principles (ALCOA+)

 

Job-Specific Skills:

• Strong knowledge of industry standards regarding vulnerability management including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)

• Proficient hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices
• Technical knowledge of current systems software, security and network protocols, and standards
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong teamwork skills with ability to take charge of their area of expertise
• Ability to perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using manual testing techniques, scripts, commercial and open-source tools
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge with prioritizing remediation activities with operational teams through risk ratings of vulnerabilities and assets
• Ability to read, write and modify scripts for automation of vulnerability management tasks
• Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches
• Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
