Compensation:

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $116,534 - $154,413. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Project Management? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our process engineering function. As a Project Manager-PSS, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

The position leads ongoing improvement engineering tasks and capital improvement projects as assigned by the Manager-Process Engineering. The position will work with Operations, Quality, Facilities and Maintenance to identify, measure, analyze, improve and control performance of the feeder plant operations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Initiate projects from contract, proposal, and cost budget. Assist with order setup and document projects in systems of record.
  • Assemble project teams and assign responsibilities. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure work is performed per project plan, contract and company requirements.
  • Create and maintain project plans. Define and document scope, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, budget, and quality gates for each project phase.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules. Deliver status updates to stakeholders at an agreed upon cadence, leveraging various communication methods to ensure information flows effectively.
  • Schedule, lead, and participate actively in project meetings, facilitating clear communication, taking detailed notes, and updating project plans to ensure efficient follow-up and execution of actions to keep stakeholders accountable.
  • Identify and monitor project risks and develop risk mitigations strategies to keep projects tracking to expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate the success of projects against predefined objectives and customer expectations. Lead stakeholders in the change management process.
  • Monitor and control project financials with regular reports to leadership. Prepare financial forecasts.
  • Collect and document project feedback from stakeholders. Facilitate process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and quality standards. Complete and maintain all required training and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships. Identify and cultivate new project opportunities. Assist the proposal development team in defining scope, budget, and schedule for new proposals.
  • Self-sufficiently manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • BS/BA degree: project management or engineering.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in a customer-facing role within the electric power industry.
  • Project Management Professional Certification or MPM.
  • Required to travel (up to 40%) and work extended hours when necessary. Required to travel overnight and internationally from time to time.
  • Excellent knowledge of and demonstrated experience applying project management principles to manage a large portfolio of complex projects to successful delivery.
  • Sound technology proficiency including experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana or similar project management systems.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to create detailed project plans, define scope, establish timelines/milestones, and manage project finances and budgets.
  • Great customer service orientation, ensuring satisfaction of customers and consistent communication.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, coordinating internal and external resources, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise, prioritizing tasks, managing multiple deadlines and keeping others organized.
  • Sound interpersonal skills to establish professional relationships built on mutual trust and respect. Foster a shared sense of purpose in project teams. Navigate and resolve conflict and foster collaborative working relationships across a diverse project team.
  • Excellent communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and present influentially regarding project progress and risks.
  • Business acumen, critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve difficult issues and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Financial acumen to manage project budgets and finances to maximum effectiveness.
  • Great presentation and facilitation skills to present project related updates, foster discussion regarding project plans and elicit contributions from stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Project. Prior experience with Oracle is preferred.

Relevant Experience Required: The position requires experience in the electric power industry. Candidates should have prior experience successfully planning and executing customer-facing projects associated with medium/high voltage utility-scale electrical equipment and services. Prior experience working for an electrical equipment manufacturer is preferred. Prior experience with medium voltage data center equipment application, installation, testing and commissioning is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Handling: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Environment: Work performed in a regular office environment within a manufacturing facility. Occasionally, projects will require on site work at utility substations, utility transmission or distribution systems, C&I facilities, and/or government facilities.
