What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Junior Economic Analyst to support federal and state workforce, labor market, and program integrity initiatives. The successful candidate will leverage economic research, statistical analysis, and data analytics techniques to evaluate program performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that support evidence-based decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, performance drivers, and root causes affecting program outcomes.
- Support economic and policy analysis related to workforce development, labor economics, and government benefit programs.
- Conduct quantitative research using statistical and econometric methods to evaluate program effectiveness and operational performance.
- Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and presentations that communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of analytical models that support program monitoring and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, validate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Support program integrity initiatives by identifying potential fraud, waste, abuse, and compliance risks.
- Contribute to research reports, policy briefs, technical documentation, and client deliverables.
- Participate in project planning activities and support the successful delivery of analytics projects within established timelines.
What You Will Need
- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident, due to nature of client engagements.
- Bachelor's degree . Seven (7) Years experience is required in lieu of degree.
- Three (3) years of experience in economics, data analytics, statistics, public policy analysis, or a related discipline.
- Experience conducting quantitative analysis and interpreting large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency with statistical programming and data analysis tools such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Experience developing analytical reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Knowledge of statistical methods, economic analysis techniques, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within project teams.
What Would Be Nice to Have
- Experience supporting Unemployment Insurance (UI) programs or other federal or state workforce and benefits programs.
- Familiarity with program integrity, compliance monitoring, fraud detection, or performance analytics initiatives.
- Knowledge of labor market economics, workforce development programs, or government-funded assistance programs.
- Experience working with federal, state, or local government agencies.
- Understanding of econometric modeling, predictive analytics, and advanced statistical techniques.
- Experience leading analytics workstreams or supporting complex data-driven projects.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments and modern business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
