Join Amazon's Security organization as a Security Engineer within our Enterprise Protection Program, where you'll be at the forefront of evaluating, investigating, and mitigating active insider risks.
With this role, we are specifically looking for someone who is passionate about "diving deep" into a variety of specific cyber-aligned insider threat issues. You should have experience (and enjoy!) sifting through data to identify trends and opportunities to innovate on detection and prevention mechanisms. Part of these efforts could include identifying and implementing new analytic opportunities based on the evolving threat landscape.
Absolutely necessary for this role is someone who has excellent oral and written communication skills. Depending on the audience and context, you should be able to author detailed technical reports but also distill complex concepts into executive summaries for leaders.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional technical analytical and investigative skills, thrives in both independent and collaborative work environments, and excels at cross-functional partnership. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of enterprise security solutions while working alongside industry-leading professionals.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every six months.
Key job responsibilities
- Independently dive deep into/investigate complex cyber-aligned insider threat issues;
- Perform deep dive analysis of internal and external datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and activities indicative of insider risks;
- Author comprehensive, clear summaries of complex incidents;
- Assist with identifying and driving opportunities to automate and optimize insider risk analytics, tooling, and processes;
- Identify and mitigate insider risk by collaborating with other Amazon Security teams, as well as external industry partners;

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - 2+ years of IT Security experience - Experience implementing security solutions at the cross-team level - 2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools (non-internship) experience - Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
Preferred Qualifications: - Information security professional certification - Experience in any combination of the following: application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, secure infrastructure, penetration testing, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, identity and access controls, threat modeling, cryptography, threat intelligence, or secure software development - 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language (non-internship) experience - Experience with AWS products and services

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
