Our team values innovation and collaboration, and we’re seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager with a passion for software development and marine technology to join us.

 

Role Overview: The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering software and technology projects in accordance with the short, mid and long term Siren Marine product development and engineering plans.  This role requires a strong technical background in software development, excellent project management skills, and expertise in testing and quality assurance. An understanding of the marine industry practices and challenges is a bonus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for software and technology solutions tailored to the marine industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and marine engineers, globally, to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; monitor progress and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
  • Ensure technical feasibility and alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in project workflows and team collaboration.
  • Manage test engineering team

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Project Management Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years managing software development projects. Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Marine Industry Experience: An understanding of marine systems, operations, and challenges. Experience managing projects involving marine-specific technologies such as monitoring systems, navigation systems or marine sensors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working with technical teams.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in the development or deployment of software systems used in marine applications.
  • Expertise in project management tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project.
  • Expertise in cloud management tools such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage geographically distributed teams and offshore development partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to anticipate and address challenges effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience or willingness to work with a diverse and global team
