Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
  • Experience with network technologies/protocols (e.g., VXLAN, BGP EVPN, 802.1x, LACP, Encryption, key management, Micro segmentation, ACL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • CCIE, PCNSE, FCP certifications or production environment equivalent level experience.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to enable network feature development velocity and accelerate daily workflow.
  • Knowledge of Python and Go programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Linux.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google’s data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Be responsible for development of solutions for Google's Enterprise network, executing new features qualification and validation through network development, deployment, operation, and optimization.
  • Scale systems sustainably through tools and automation, and evolve systems by driving change that improves reliability and velocity, reliably serving Google Enterprise Network team’s customers.
  • Participate in 24x7 on call rotation for subject matter expert (SME) Tier 3 support requirements as needed.
  • Coordinate and take lead of assigned projects in all technical and communication aspects.
  • Coach and collaborate with peer engineers towards achieving common goals in assigned projects.
