Are you an experienced Project Manager with a successful track record of delivering complex, multi-discipline design and construction schemes into the buildings and infrastructure sectors? In recent years, our project delivery within the transport, buildings, and infrastructure sectors has experienced sustained growth, driven by increasing demand for our expertise across these vital public services. Building on this success, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager with a proven history of achievement in a construction consultancy setting, to be based in our Manchester or Leeds office. 

 

Job Description

Here’s what you’ll be doing  

  • Delivering complex, multidisciplinary design and construction projects across all project lifecycle stages, from initial design through to handover, while ensuring client expectations, programme milestones and budget requirements are met. 
  • Maintaining regular and effective communication with clients, design teams, procurement, cost engineering, planning, construction, and OHS teams to ensure seamless project coordination, informed decision-making, and the timely resolution of issues. 
  • Providing effective contract administration across the NEC4 suite of contracts, proactively managing contractual processes, risks, and stakeholder obligations throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Overseeing changes to project scope, ensuring they are effectively managed through formal change control procedures to minimise impacts on programme, cost, and quality, while tracking and reporting project progress. 
  • Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, proactively supporting business development activities, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the continued growth of the business. 

 

Qualifications

Here’s what we’ll be looking for 

  • Evidence of successfully delivering complex, multi-disciplined, Buildings and Infrastructure projects from concept to handover 
  • Experience of the NEC suite of contracts, ideally including the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) 
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a high performing, integrated, multi-organisational, team 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills 
  • Highly motivated with a growing industry network and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders, as well as an ability to build and maintain networks of business contacts. 
  • Able to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Senior Project Managers and Associates in the delivery of some of our projects. 
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible 
  • Experience of working within a client organisation, either directly or through a co-location/secondment arrangement. 
  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilize current digital tools. 
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills. 

       Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Academic Qualification – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Master’s Degree 
  • NEC 3/4 accreditation 
  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, APM or other equivalent institution
