Position Summary...

Join Walmart as a Senior Crime Data Analyst and leverage your expertise in qualitative, quantitative, statistical, and geospatial analysis and data visualization to support business decision-making across multiple domains. This role involves identifying and validating data sources, applying advanced analytical techniques, and translating complex business requirements into actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strategic initiatives. The position requires proficiency in tactical and strategic analysis, quantitative analytical techniques, data visualization, and statistical methods to deliver clear, impactful products and recommendations that align with Walmart’s business objectives.

About the team... The Security Analytics team is a cross-functional group of Crime and Data Analysts dedicated to addressing business challenges within the Global Security domain. The team leverages advanced data analysis, visualization, and automation techniques to deliver actionable insights. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, they identify relevant data sources, ensure data quality, and apply analytical methods to support informed decision-making. Their work drives strategic solutions that enhance security operations and business outcomes, utilizing tools such as SQL, Power BI, and geospatial analysis to transform complex data into clear, impactful information.

What you'll do...

  • Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains to support analytical needs and decision-making processes.
  • Perform data quality assessments, validation, and cleansing to ensure accuracy and reliability of datasets.
  • Develop and apply data visualization techniques using tools such as Power BI and SQL to communicate insights effectively.
  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable data projects aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data-driven recommendations that address business challenges.
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices in data analysis and visualization.

What you'll bring... • Proven expertise in data analysis, visualization, and validation using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong knowledge of data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Proficiency in tactical, strategic, administrative, and investigative crime analysis, including identifying and evaluating crime patterns, series, trends, hotspots, and emerging public-safety issues.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable data solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro or equivalent tools, including geocoding and hotspot analysis.
  • Effective communication skills to present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and mentor junior team members.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3: 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
