General Summary:

Qualcomm is a company of inventors that helped unlock 5G, accelerating connectivity and creating new possibilities that can transform industries, generate jobs, and enrich lives. This is only the beginning. Realizing 5G’s full potential requires inventive minds with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives to create world-changing technologies and products. This is the Invention Age—and this is where you come in.

The Compute Chipset Product Management team is part of QCT’s Product Management organization. The team manages the Windows on Snapdragon portfolio, which includes Snapdragon products used in laptops, notebooks, all-in-one devices, and other compute form factors.

The team’s objective is to synthesize and prioritize technical requirements, define the compute product and technology portfolio strategy, and build a roadmap that enables QCT to sustain technology, product, and business leadership. Portfolio development reflects technology evolution, standardization efforts, partnerships, changes in device engineering and testing processes, market and product requirements, business opportunities, and the competitive landscape.

This role leads compute chipset products through the full product lifecycle. Responsibilities include assessing market requirements, defining product positioning and feature specifications, partnering with engineering to evaluate technology trade-offs, developing business case justifications, and working with OEMs to secure portfolio design-ins and enable successful device launches.

Principal Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of the PC processor market, including desktops, laptops, all-in-ones, small form factor devices, key processor vendors, OEMs, ODMs, channel partners, laptop market requirements, performance expectations, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Lead the end-to-end PC chipset processor product strategy from concept and definition through execution and end of life.
  • Identify gaps in the PC market through rigorous analysis of market, customer, technology, and ecosystem needs, and use those insights to guide product design and definition discussions.
  • Develop and promote strategies that leverage new technologies, industry trends, and disruptive approaches to grow Snapdragon share across laptops, desktops, all-in-ones, and other compute categories.
  • Guide teams involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or product family.
  • Own the PC chipset product across the full lifecycle, including product modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and end-of-life planning.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration on business cases for new, complex products, validating alignment with business direction and roadmap priorities.
  • Market complex products and technologies through technical marketing opportunities, including conferences, industry events, direct customer engagement, and product launch activities.
  • Prepare and deliver advanced technical presentations that explain the product roadmap and demonstrate managed products to customers.
  • Translate customer feedback and external market signals into potential roadmap changes and communicate recommendations to senior leaders, including GM and executive staff.
  • Independently direct and oversee development of complex products, new product areas, and services while maintaining communication across functional teams.
  • Hold self and teams accountable for staying current on competitors, technology advances, and the product ecosystem, while leading innovation to articulate product differentiation and identify emerging trends.
  • Stay current on the latest AI technology trends—including LLM architectures, model optimization, on-device and hybrid AI deployment models, AI software stacks, developer ecosystems, workload requirements, and external AI accelerator attach platforms—and map emerging capabilities to product opportunities, creating a compelling vision that guides compute chipset roadmap, differentiation, and customer value.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership through an established plan to ensure cross-functional alignment on product-line plans.
  • Ensure successful cross-functional collaboration by confirming that agreed KPIs and specifications are met when complex new products are delivered by engineering.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and program sponsors to define product goals, including performance, cost, timeline, and customer schedules; assess feasibility; and support cross-functional decision-making for owned products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of product management experience with PC or laptop processors.
  • Deep experience in the PC and laptop semiconductor industry and ecosystem.
  • Direct experience as a PC silicon product manager working with customers, device makers, and ODMs.
  • MBA preferred.
