Job Title: Engineering Manager - Charges

Location: Glascoed – Fully On-Site

Salary: Circa £58,000

Job Description:

You will manage the technical aspects of engineering programmes for Charges products. This will include managing the workload of the engineering team, acting as the focal point within the business for all technical queries relating to Charges products, and be the delegated authority for Charges products which will include discharging the company’s responsibility for Safety and Security.

This is a role where you will also be responsible for maintaining capability of the team and roll out of a competency training programme to ensure this team can deliver.

Core duties:

  • You will lead the Charges Team, including engineers and scientists at all stages of their career, from recent university graduates to subject matter experts within their field
  • You will drive the team to design, develops, test, and manufacture charge system products for the defence industry. These are used in munitions systems across the world
  • You will form a core part of the Integrated Delivery Team (IDT), who are experiencing growth with a number of opportunities
  • You will provide engineering governance for engineering activity within the team

Essential Skills:

  • You will require a relevant degree in Chemistry or similar qualification
  • You will deliver key milestones for engineering projects and programmes
  • You will support manufacturing activities, including resolving technical issues such as non-conformance to technical data pack
  • You will make technical justifications in challenging environments. This will be demonstrated by your excellent communication & management skills

The Charges Team:

This team supports an existing portfolio of Charges products. The area is going through a period of growth where we are developing and sourcing new products. This is an opportunity for you to play a direct role; increasing our export market and ensure the team understands the needs & requirements in this area for the new business and supply chains established. You will be joining an existing team that is diverse, with an excellent knowledge base and work ethic.
