Software Mind is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Senior Full-Stack Engineer — (Python, AWS / Backend Focus).

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in Latin America.

About the role:

Your work will be approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend, using Python, SQL, and AWS, alongside HTML, HTMX, and Jinja templates. Deep expertise in JavaScript frontend frameworks is not required, but you should be comfortable contributing across the application.

You’ll own technical projects and collaborate with product, data, and operations teams on architecture, reliability, and process improvements.

Main Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Develop data ingestion workflows using APIs and batch processing.
• Replace manual and spreadsheet-driven processes with automated systems, internal tools, and dashboards.
• Contribute to server-rendered frontend development using HTML, HTMX, and Jinja.
• Improve testing, performance, security, monitoring, and data quality; troubleshoot production issues.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical planning, taking ownership from development through deployment.

 

Qualifications

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong backend engineering background.
• Strong English communication skills (B2–C1 or above) for collaboration across teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building production backend services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL; PostgreSQL is preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse, including data ingestion and processing.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• Experience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS CDK, or similar, plus familiarity with CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs and/or GraphQL, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.
• Ability to work independently, lead technical efforts, and deliver practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.

 

Highly Desired

• Experience with HTML, HTMX, Jinja templates, or Python-based server-rendered applications.

 

Additional Information

Nice to Have

• Experience with Apache Airflow or another data orchestration platform.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, Angular, or JavaScript.
