JOB TITLE : Business Analyst, Finance Integration

POSITION STATUS: Temporary

DEPARTMENT: Finance

LOCATION : Montréal

We are seeking a Business Analyst - Finance Integration to support the design and implementation of a new reservation system. This role will act as the key liaison between Finance, Operations, IT, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between operational platforms and financial systems. The position will focus on aligning end-to-end business processes, defining integration requirements, supporting data and transaction flows, and ensuring that financial impacts are accurately captured across payment processing, revenue recognition, reconciliations, reporting, and internal control environments. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis expertise with a solid understanding of finance processes, systems integration, and transformation initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements related to financial reporting, billing, profitability analysis, and core finance processes within the reservation system.
  • Analyze current-state workflows and define future-state processes that improve operational efficiency, financial accuracy, decision support, and customer experience.
  • Work closely with Finance teams to ensure proper treatment of financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting requirements, and performance metrics.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, process maps, user stories, business rules, and test scenarios for system configuration and development teams.
  • Partner with IT, vendors, product owners, and project managers to ensure finance requirements are embedded into the reservation system design.
  • Support integration design between the reservation platform and financial systems, including ERP, payment solutions, general ledger, and reporting environments.
  • Identify risks, control gaps, and compliance considerations related to financial data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process governance.
  • Lead or support user acceptance testing by defining test cases, validating expected results, and coordinating issue resolution with stakeholders.
  • Assist with data mapping, data validation, and migration activities related to financial structures, transactions, historical records, and reporting dimensions.
  • Prepare process documentation, training materials, and stakeholder communications to support change management and successful system adoption.
  • Provide post-implementation support to resolve process issues, monitor outcomes, and recommend continuous improvements.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, finance transformation or system implementation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of finance processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and performance analysis.
  • Experience working on reservation, order management, ERP, or other transaction-based systems.
  • Proven ability to document requirements, facilitate workshops, map business processes, and support system testing.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, data quality, and the downstream financial impacts of operational transactions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems, planning tools, and reporting platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain business and financial requirements clearly to technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in travel, hospitality, transportation, or other industries using complex reservation or booking systems.
  • Knowledge of financial planning, variance analysis, KPI development, and management reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms, system integrations, and reporting environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or digital modernization projects.
  • Professional certification such as CBAP, PMP, CPA, CFA, or equivalent is an asset.
