The expected salary for this position:
Core range: 9 600 – 17 000 PLN gross Exceptional range: 17 000 – 21 000 PLN gross
The exceptional range applies to candidates who demonstrate advanced expertise in SAS platforms (SAS 9, SAS Viya 3.5, SAS Viya 4), take ownership of highly complex operational and onboarding challenges, drive improvements in platform stability, automation and model deployment processes, and provide additional value through mentoring, knowledge sharing, or broad cross-domain expertise spanning SAS, cloud technologies and analytical platforms.
The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
We are looking for you, if you:
- have experience in administering SAS environments (SAS 9, SAS Viya 3.5 or similar),
- understand how to configure, operate and maintain SAS components used by modelling teams (e.g., CAS-like concepts, libraries, folders, access control),
- can support modelers in publishing, deploying and troubleshooting analytical or risk models,
- can work with SAS CLI, basic scripting and follow existing automation patterns,
- are able to perform root‑cause analysis of issues in model execution, platform configuration or user workflows,
- have basic knowledge of Azure (e.g., Azure DevOps pipelines, Azure SQL DB) and are willing to develop these skills further,
- can interpret logs, diagnose issues, and collaborate with platform engineers when deeper infrastructure‑level support is needed,
- are familiar with CI/CD concepts,
- communicate well in English (both written and spoken),
- are a team player, reliable, proactive, eager to learn and improve the platform continuously.
You'll get extra points for:
- knowledge of Azure SQL, ADLS, or exposure to Azure Fabric / analytics components,
- experience supporting users in analytical or modelling environments,
- experience operating and maintaining databases (e.g., Oracle, Azure SQL),
- understanding of general security standards, access control and data governance.
Your responsibilities:
- configure and maintain SAS components on the new platform to enable smooth onboarding of new models,
- support the deployment and operational lifecycle of analytical and risk models (publishing, versioning, scoring workflows),
- manage SAS platform artefacts: libraries, caslibs-equivalent structures, folders, authorisations and access control,
- collaborate with modelers to troubleshoot issues in model execution, data access or environment configuration,
- use SAS CLI and existing automation frameworks to execute routine tasks and assist with semi‑automated deployment flows,
- manage platform-level configuration that does not involve Kubernetes infrastructure (maintained by a separate team),
- contribute to improving operational procedures, documentation and knowledge base for modelling teams,
- monitor SAS-related services (not Kubernetes), analyse logs, identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions,
- ensure compliance with internal standards for security, confidentiality, integrity and stability,
- participate in Agile ceremonies: stand‑ups, refinements, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Information about the team: You will join a platform-focused squad providing a stable, secure and easy-to-use SAS environment enabling ING modelling teams to develop, deploy and run analytical models efficiently. The platform is evolving towards SAS Viya 4, while some components are still operating on earlier SAS generations. Core cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Azure Fabric, networking, scaling) is handled by a dedicated engineering team — your focus will remain on SAS configuration, model onboarding, operational readiness and supporting the modelling lifecycle. You will collaborate with SAS experts, DevOps engineers and cloud specialists, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure high-quality and reliable modelling capabilities for ING entities worldwide.
The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Engineer III" or "Engineer IV”.
