About the Position
We are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on Senior Visual & Motion Designer for a consultant assignment to join our UX team in Lund, Sweden. This role requires a mix of solid design craftsmanship and modern workflows. While we use AI tools to speed up prototyping and asset production, core design skills and pixel-perfect precision are still essential. This is especially true when creating completely new product concepts and features where AI tools cannot help because the ideas do not exist yet. You will work with the team from start to finish, taking full responsibility for the final UI and visuals. You need to know when to use AI for efficiency and when to do the manual work yourself to deliver high-quality, mass-market products for both China and international markets.
Job Responsibilities
- UI & Visual Ownership: Partner with the team from project start to completion, taking full responsibility for the final UI, visual assets, and motion design. • Smart Workflow Execution: Balance your day-to-day work by using AI to generate designs quickly, while focusing your energy on evaluating, polishing, and guiding the final output.
- Designing New Concepts: Lead the visual design for completely new ideas and features where AI cannot assist, using core design principles to build new visual systems from scratch.
- Independent Decision-Making: Drive complex projects forward on your own. Make quick, daily design choices to keep projects moving and ensure deliverables are ready for production.
- Seeing the Bigger Picture: Evaluate how your visual solutions and prototypes fit into the broader product ecosystem and business goals.
- Research Integration: Translate user research findings directly into clear visual and interface designs.
- Mass Market Awareness: Design for a global scale, with a clear understanding of what works for mass-market consumer products both in China and internationally.
- Communication & Feedback: Present visual concepts and motion designs clearly to global stakeholders, and effectively prioritize and implement their feedback.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree in Visual Design, Motion Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a senior designer, with a track record of delivering visual solutions for large-scale consumer markets.
- Approach: A proactive, hands-on approach with a proven ability to run design projects without needing constant supervision.
Required Skills & Personal Characteristics
- Portfolio: A portfolio showing high-quality UI design, visual styling, motion design, and finished, production-ready products.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in standard digital design and animation tools (like Figma and After Effects) along with practical knowledge of how and when to use AI tools.
- Pixel-Perfect Craft: Strong basic skills in typography, layout, and animation timing, with the ability to deliver flawless final designs manually.
- Clear Thinking: The ability to explain and defend your design choices based on research and project goals, not just personal taste.
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken) and experience working with international, cross-cultural teams.
- Diversity: We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives within the team. Location Candidates must reside in Lund, Sweden, or nearby areas, or be willing to relocate to Lund.
