  • Come Join Our Team! DKW Communications, Inc. (DKW) is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies i.e. defense, law enforcement and security. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our Nay SWMFTS contract. This is an onsite position located at the USMC base in Futenma, Japan.

Overview

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining both classified and unclassified LAN's in a mixed platform environment. They will also be responsible for issue response, network uptime, and maintaining backups, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting and configuration. The Network Engineer must be a jack of all trades and capable of resolving issues in every aspect involved in maintaining the network. This position regularly interfaces with various branches of the military, civilians, and contractors, and requires a positive proactive attitude. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Resolve issues that arise in network communications
  • Coordinate, design, and implement new networks, routes, and security safeguards
  • Install, upgrade, update, and reconfigure new and existing networking equipment
  • Collect, organize, and analyze network and computer systems data
  • Support Live, Virtual, Constructed (LVC) exercise planning, execution, and after-action efforts
  • Manage, configure, and track COMSEC devices (KGs), support end user COMSEC needs, and work with various COMSEC representatives at multiple sites
  • Assist the Government in the administration, general maintenance, and Cyber Security posture of network and computer system Hardware and Software for assigned training devices and off-line development systems in accordance with instructions and pre-established frameworks set by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and the Government
  • Provide end user cybersecurity support for Computing Environment (CE)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to the CE
  • Apply and manage appropriate CE access controls
  • Apply and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to networking and computing devices and environment
  • Perform vulnerability assessments on Windows and Linux based platforms using Assured Computing Assessment Solution (ACAS), vulnerability remediation, and reporting
  • Maintain backup and recovery strategy for network equipment, suggest improvements
  • Assist in creating and reviewing Memorandum of Agreements (MoA) and Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA)
  • Support Security Test & Evaluations, and Validation Tests
  • Occasional need to terminate and run Cat 5E/6 and fiber optic cable
  • Travel required, up to 10%

Required Qualifications:

  • An active Secret Security Clearance or higher is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or mathematics; 8 years of related work experience may be substituted for education requirement
  • 5-8 years of engineering or network/computer systems administrator experience is required with at least 2 years of cybersecurity experience
  • Must be DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliant; (i.e. Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA Security)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience handling and configuring COMSEC encryption devices
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Juniper products
  • Experience with Solarwinds
  • Experience with Tenable.SC, Nessus, and STIG Compliance tools
  • Experience in Multicast and GRE tunneling environments
  • Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching and Cisco CCNP Security
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Server Administration
  • Experience with Linux and scripting
  • Experience in DoD RMF Process, Including Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M)
  • 3+ years utilizing packet analysis tools
