Exploration Business Analyst

About the role

Lifeblood's Strategic Transformation & Readiness team is strengthening its capability across strategy, transformation and delivery to help Lifeblood optimise today and build for tomorrow - exploring new opportunities and creating lasting value for Lifeblood and the communities we serve.

As our Business Analyst – Exploration, you'll play a critical role in helping teams uncover what's really happening beneath the surface. You'll work across multiple exploration squads to map current processes, challenge assumptions, identify inefficiencies and build the evidence needed to determine whether an opportunity is worth pursuing. You'll work across multiple Exploration squads, with a particular focus on AI & Intelligent Systems, Plasma & Supply Growth and Donor Experience, helping translate operational complexity into clear opportunities for improvement and innovation

A key focus of the role will be supporting Lifeblood's AI value chain diagnostic, identifying where manual effort, process friction, trapped knowledge and operational inefficiencies exist, and determining where AI could create meaningful value.

What you’ll be doing

• Map and analyse business and operational processes to understand how work actually flows across Lifeblood.

• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder conversations to uncover pain points, inefficiencies and opportunities.

• Support AI and intelligent systems initiatives by identifying high-value use cases and documenting future-state opportunities.

• Break down complex work into the individual activities, decisions and capabilities required to perform it.

• Develop business cases, requirements documentation and evidence packs that support decision-making.

• Conduct value chain analysis and operational diagnostics to assess where investment could deliver the greatest benefit.

• Partner with Product Leads, Product Owners, Data Analysts and Design Leads to build a complete picture of opportunities and challenges.

• Support multiple squads and initiatives concurrently, adapting your approach to different business problems and priorities

• Strong Business Analysis experience within complex organisations.

• Excellent process mapping and operational analysis capability.

• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging diverse stakeholder groups.

• Experience supporting AI, automation, digital transformation or process improvement initiatives.

• Experience on AI, Agentic AI or intelligent automation projects.

• Experience performing AI value chain diagnostics or identifying process candidates for automation.

• The ability to identify and articulate the value of change, including costs, benefits and viability.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to quickly build trust.

• Experience working across multiple projects, teams or workstreams simultaneously.

• Familiarity with Agile ways of working and iterative discovery approaches.
