Role Overview
This is a dual-function role that combines hands-on IT support with software quality assurance. Roughly half the week is spent keeping our workstations, printers, and core network services running smoothly across our pharmacy locations. The other half is spent testing the custom software our team relies on day to day — writing and running test cases, catching bugs before they reach production, and helping us ship changes with confidence.
What You'll Do
IT Support & Infrastructure (~50%)
- Provide level 1–2 support for workstation issues — hardware, OS, connectivity, user accounts, and everyday troubleshooting.
- Image, configure, and deploy new computers from standardized builds.
- Ensure existing builds are updated regularly, maintain anti virus protection and function as expected.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair scanners, Zebra printers and other devices.
- Help implement and manage Samba or another Active Directory tool.
- Work with outsourced network security team to monitor firewalls.
- Keep endpoints patched, documented, and inventoried.
- Keep equipment list up to date.
- Develop processes for onboarding and offboarding.
Software Quality Assurance (~50%)
- Test our internally built software across new features, fixes, and releases.
- Write, execute, and maintain clear, repeatable test cases and checklists.
- Run regression and exploratory testing to catch issues before they reach users.
- Document defects with clear reproduction steps and work with developers to verify fixes.
- Support user-acceptance testing and help validate that software matches how the pharmacy actually works.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in IT support, help desk, or a similar hands-on technical role.
- Solid Windows workstation troubleshooting; comfort imaging and deploying machines.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and/or Samba (users, groups, shares, permissions).
- Comfortable with basic networking concepts and printer/peripheral troubleshooting.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and organized — able to document work clearly.
- Trustworthy with sensitive systems and data; able to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to software testing or QA (test cases, bug tracking, regression testing).
- Familiarity with firewall monitoring and basic security hygiene.
- Experience in a healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated (HIPAA) environment.
- Comfort with Jira or Linear a plus.
- Light scripting or SQL for troubleshooting or data validation.
The anticipated salary range is $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
