Position: Financial Data Analyst

Why we need you: We are looking for a Financial Data Analyst to join our team and support our data operations. This role offers a mix of strategic proposal support and hands-on data analysis and modelling, providing great exposure across different areas of the business.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Implement Company Policy Statements and the relevant parts of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with the IMS and remain updated on any changes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support the smooth operation of the company.
  • Analyse client and internal data using tools such as Power BI to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
  • Monitor market price trends and support pricing analysis and benchmarking activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate with external providers on Power BI dashboards and data visualisations.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and effective utilisation across the organisation.
  • Present data insights clearly to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the Business Development team and Management in preparing client proposals.
  • Provide analytical support for ongoing projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support Finance and Purchasing teams in monitoring vessel financial performance, conducting supplier benchmarking, and assisting with cost analysis.
  • Contribute to process improvements and identify efficiencies through data analysis.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to Management.
  • Perform any other duties relevant to the role as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller, or Managing Director.

You need these qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s

degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and general computer literacy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel (essential).
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple departments.
  • Proactive mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the shipping industry.
  • Interest in or familiarity with the maritime/shipping sector.
  • Exposure to data modelling or KPIs/reporting frameworks.
