DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER:  Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA, servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.  Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions. 

SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Clerk II plays a key role in ensuring product integrity and compliance with Feeser’s Quality Management System. This role performs in-depth inspections, investigates quality issues, analyzes data trends, and drives corrective actions. The Level II designation reflects advanced accountability for verifying process adherence, improving quality outcomes, and ensuring measurable reductions in product defects and customer complaints. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Scheduled shift: Sunday–Thursday, 6pm–finish; overtime as needed.  
  • Lead routine execution of the Quality Management System, ensuring consistent application of standards across warehouse operations.  
  • Conduct internal quality audits and verify completion of corrective actions.  
  • Perform daily product inspections and identify nonconformities with documented follow up.  
  • Analyze quality trends and recommend data driven process improvements.  
  • Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and document resolutions with measurable outcomes.  
  • Oversee corrective and preventive action processes, ensuring timely closure and prevention of recurrence.  
  • Prepare quality performance metrics, identify variances, and present findings to management.  
  • Provide evidence-based feedback to Supervisors and the Warehouse Trainer regarding employee performance related to quality issues.  
  • Ensure processes support reduction in product damage, mispicks, and quality related errors.  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Strong independent decision-making ability and sound judgment, with appropriate escalation to supervisors when needed.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in high volume environments.  
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and with external partners.  
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to interpret quality data.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to develop reports and streamline workflows.  
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using technology to track, report, and interpret quality metrics.  
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and clarity in written and verbal communication. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  

  • 1-3 years of related experience in quality control or quality assurance (warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution preferred) 
  • Ability to work in varying facility conditions and temperatures 
  • Experience using powered industrial equipment preferred 
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. 

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to maneuver through tight spaces and various warehouse environments.  
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 100 lbs.  
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.  
  • Ability to travel between work areas as needed.  
  • Adequate visual acuity including color, depth, and distance perception.  
  • Frequent repetitive motions (hands, wrists, fingers).  
  • Ability to safely work in noisy or hazardous environments.  
  • Must work comfortably in temperatures ranging from –10°F to 90°F.
