Senior Wordpress Developer

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance WordPress applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in WordPress development, custom plugin development, API integrations, and third-party system integrations, with a focus on delivering secure, optimized, and business-critical web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins following industry best practices.

• Design and implement custom WordPress plugins and extend existing platform functionalities.

• Build, integrate, and maintain REST APIs, third-party applications, and external business systems.

• Develop and manage integrations with payment gateways, CRM platforms, marketing tools, and other enterprise applications.

• Customize and optimize WordPress themes to ensure responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing experiences.

• Optimize website performance, scalability, security, and overall reliability.

• Collaborate with UI/UX Designers, Product Managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex website, plugin, and integration-related issues.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture, technical design, and development best practices.

• Ensure adherence to coding standards, version control processes, and deployment procedures.

• Monitor and improve website performance through caching, database optimization, and performance tuning techniques.

• Support deployment activities, production releases, and post-production maintenance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in WordPress development.

• Strong expertise in PHP, WordPress, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Hands-on experience with REST API development and integration.

• Proven experience with third-party integrations, including payment gateways, CRM platforms, marketing tools, and external services.

• Strong experience in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress plugins.

• Experience with custom theme development and WordPress theme architecture.

• Knowledge of Git, version control best practices, and deployment processes.

• Understanding of website security, performance optimization, caching mechanisms, and scalability considerations.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Coveo Search Integration.

• Exposure to WooCommerce and custom eCommerce solutions.

• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud environments.

• Experience working with headless WordPress implementations and API-driven architectures.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
