Full description

This is a remote position.

Embrace is growing the Business Development team within our M&A group. The role is to search for, find, and get in contact with owners or CEO’s of world-class software organizations that lead to the sourcing of current acquisition opportunities for Embrace. This individual will leverage their existing relationships and build new ones with decision makers (i.e. owners, CEO’s and founders) of software companies, M&A advisors, and private equity/venture capital professionals in the United States. Success is defined by breaking through barriers others have not been able to, and sourcing Embrace’s newest platform acquisitions.

Initiating relationships, maintaining relationships, delivering the value proposition of Embrace and leveraging their biz dev experience to provide best practices, coach and lead others, identifying the appropriate KPIs and keeping themselves and others accountable immediately upon starting.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Business Development.

Outcomes:

  • Be able to identify or perform market analysis to identify the next market or industry to break into to source a new platform acquisition for Embrace.
  • Be the champion of our Salesforce CRM managing, tracking, and monitoring target accounts to ensure themselves, other BD resources and M&A team members are working on all accounts necessary.
  • Must be knowledgeable of traditional and new tools and applications that yield world-class results at the best value.
  • Must have demonstrated world-class business development best practices, work flows, strategies, and approaches
  • Must be able to set quarterly, monthly and weekly targets for themselves and other BD resources at Embrace.
  • Meet and exceed monthly BD targets, such as discovery and follow up calls and other measurable BD sourcing KPIs.
  • Must have demonstrated their ability to work both autonomously and with M&A leadership to qualify acquisition opportunities with efficiency.
  • Effectively qualify opportunities at the top-end of the acquisition funnel to maintain focus for the M&A team.
  • Must have the gift of the gab.

Requirements

  • The professional seeking out this role is passionate about the business development profession and its growth potential within Embrace.
  • Bachelor's degree from a Canadian or U.S. university (business, finance, economics, or related) with 0–2 years of experience and a strong interest in software M&A.
  • Basic understanding of Financial terms and metrics. (Revenue, Churn/Attrition/GDR, COGS, opex, ARR etc).
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and executive presence to speak with CEOs, M&A advisors, corporate development, private equity and venture capital professionals.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to work variable hours.
  • Extraordinary work ethic, proactive with a sense of urgency.
  • Prior business development experience with high volume is preferred.
