Role Description

  • Working with Product Owners and IT DevOps pod teams, to help coordinate delivery activity to ensure that Sprint & Roadmap milestone goals are achieved
  • Managing project (multi team / pod) dependencies and risks
  • Provision of regular Project status reporting – against shorter term Sprint commitments and longer term milestone roadmap indicative estimates
  • Creation and ownership of the overall Project Plan(s). Including: Short-term Scrum planning and Forward window longer-range planning (regular refresh and tracking of critical path and roadmap)
  • Oversight of JIRA updates and ensuring JIRA hygiene
  • Coordinating activities across Pods (where feature deliverables involve multiple cross-pod interaction)
  • Collaboration with Product Owners and BA Lead / BAs to ensure that all inputs into the delivery teams are fit-for-purpose e.g. requirements are exhaustive & signed off and work is de-constructed and translated into suitable EPICs and user & technical stories (and factor in traceable Test criteria / scenarios / data from the outset)
  • Collaboration with Product Owners, BA Lead / BAs & IT Pod Leads to ensure that pods are aligned to backlog priorities and that resource capacity is managed / optimised and factored into short-term Sprint commitments and longer-term milestone roadmap indicative estimates
  • Collaboration with Pod Leads to ensure that estimates are fit-for-purpose and take into account all main considerations e.g. resource capacity, dependency constraints etc
  • Working with product owner & team, to ensure that quality and lead time to deploy changes is continuously improving
  • Working in a vendor environment. Partnering, over-seeing and coordinating vendor activity.

**Solid knowledge and experience of the following:- **

  • Development lifecycle across different methodologies
  • Expertise with Waterfall, Agile and Scrum frameworks and their application in Product Development and delivery organization
  • Thorough understanding of Project management Practices
  • Multiple years of Project Management experience in both Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Scrum master background and/or exposure
  • Experience of large projects (50+ people)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:-

  • Overall experience in 15+ years which includes managing large, cross functional, multi geography projects
  • Candidate should be familiar with the Offshore – Onshore model
  • Should be adept at managing Risk and Issues.
  • Expertise in Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, Lean methodologies
  • Vendor / 3rd party management
  • Relationship management (both internal and external) and networking skills.
  • Excellent 360 degree influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple work threads at one time
  • International experience or experience of dealing with international resources (project team and user base will be dispersed across multiple locations)
  • Ability to work effectively to strict timelines and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with Technology teams and business / Operations / Change
