Job Description

*** This is a short-term contract position for 3–4 months.

*** Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Residents with full working rights in Australia.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to own end-to-end delivery of a client migration and platform upgrade program, embedded within the client’s existing team in Sydney.

The Delivery Manager owns each client migration from kickoff through environment cloning, platform upgrade, validation & certification, and production cutover — ensuring every client moves through each stage in a controlled, certified and predictable way, while acting as the primary point of contact for the client throughout.

The role sits at the intersection of technical delivery, quality control and client relationship management. Strong client-facing communication, technical fluency, and the ability to manage delivery under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

1. Migration Execution

  • Delivery Managers engage with clients once internal validation and certification activities have been completed, owning delivery from kickoff through go-live and post-launch stabilization. Each client is taken through the following stages:• Environment Cloning
  • Platform Upgrade
  • Validation & Certification
  • Cutover
  • Execution must ensure that all entry and exit criteria are met at each stage before a client is progressed to the next one. Delivery Managers operate effectively across multiple concurrent implementations or client accounts, managing competing priorities without compromising quality.

2. Certification & Quality Control

Ensure validation and certification are completed prior to cutover — no client proceeds to production on an uncertified environment.

Coordinate with QA and Engineering to confirm:

  • Functional parity between the existing and upgraded platform
  • Data integrity across the migrated environment
  • Unchanged system behaviour from the client’s perspective
  • Certification evidence is captured and traceable for each client

3. Wave & Batch Execution

Allocate and manage clients across migration waves based on:

  • Complexity of the client environment and configuration
  • Transaction volume (TPS)
  • Integration footprint and client-specific dependencies
  • Business criticality and acceptable change windows

Ensure execution aligns with:

  • QA certification capacity
  • Controlled batch progression — each batch is only released once the preceding batch is stable

4. Cutover Execution

  • Plan and coordinate production cutovers, including scheduling, readiness checks, communication and rollback planning, ensuring smooth transition and post-launch system stability

Ensure that:

  • Backend system transition occurs smoothly with minimal client impact
  • Post-cutover validation is completed and signed off
  • System stability is confirmed before the client is declared complete
  • Any issues arising during or after cutover are triaged and resolved without delaying the wider program

5. Client Coordination

Delivery Managers are responsible for managing client-specific configuration and integration considerations that may affect go-live readiness, including:

  • URL Masking
  • IP Whitelisting
  • Webhooks
  • API Usage Patterns
  • System access and data migration / connectivity to third-party integrations

These activities:

  • May not block migration execution, but can impact client usage if left unmanaged
  • Require proactive coordination and clear communication with client technical and business contacts
  • Must be actively managed to ensure post-cutover stability and client confidence

6. Client Relationship & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the implementation lifecycle, managing expectations and communicating status transparently — including when things are behind plan
  • Build trust with client stakeholders through direct, solutions-oriented communication — able to explain technical issues in business terms and vice versa
  • Manage scope changes and client requests, balancing client expectations against delivery commitments and contractual scope

7. Risk & Issue Management

Identify, escalate and mitigate delivery risks and issues, including:

  • Certification gaps
  • Data inconsistencies
  • Cutover execution issues
  • Client configuration or connectivity gaps

Be the direct point of contact for client escalations. Escalate early and transparently, and maintain delivery momentum without compromising quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven Delivery Manager experience in enterprise SaaS or platform environments, including migration or upgrade programs
  • Strong experience in client-facing delivery and production cutovers — a track record of running live implementations, onboarding, or system cutovers where continuity for the end customer was critical
  • Ability to manage multiple clients concurrently across structured waves and batches, under defined entry and exit criteria
  • Strong stakeholder management and risk/issue management skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sydney-based, available to work on-site/hybrid as required by the client

Technical Requirements

  • Sufficient technical fluency to engage credibly with engineering teams and assess whether a technical issue is genuinely difficult or simply being deprioritized
  • Working understanding of data migration, system integrations, connectivity, and third-party APIs in an enterprise context

Prefer

  • Experience in identity, fintech, banking/payments, or other regulated/enterprise SaaS environments
  • Experience with high-volume / high-TPS platforms
  • Experience in AWS-based environments
  • Hands-on technical background (development, systems, or infrastructure) — no longer needs to be actively coding
