An Amazon MBA role consists of leading a strategic project that is data intensive, analytical, centered on a real business issue, and representative of the full-time role.

Our MBA graduates will have ownership of a high profile project within a business organization team, where they will partner with key business groups and clients. You will have opportunities to analyze unique business ideas, make data driven decisions and provide input to drive meaningful change. Each graduate will have exposure to upper level management (including Vice Presidents and Directors) and the opportunity to apply general business skills to support successful execution of corporate strategies.

About the Sr. Product Manager Role: As an MBA hire, you will join as a Senior Product Manager across our Corporate Organizations (Marketplace, Retail, Amazon Business, Payments, Manga etc.) within Amazon Japan. Sr. Product Managers at Amazon are responsible for customer experiences with considerable scope and complexity — whether a complete product, a significant capability within a platform, or a customer-facing experience requiring cross-team coordination.

You will own defining the strategic vision for your product, establishing a roadmap, and driving teams to deliver large or significant features. You will work closely with engineering, design, account management, marketing, legal, operations, and finance teams. This role is high visibility, strategic in nature, and drives a meaningful part of the business and customer experience.

Key job responsibilities Sr. Product Managers are responsible for managing the lifecycle of a product with considerable impact to our businesses. You will own defining the strategic vision for the product, establishing a roadmap, and driving teams to deliver large or significant features. You will work closely with product management, engineering, account management, marketing, legal, operations, and finance teams around the world. The ideal candidate operates with total autonomy, thrives in ambiguous situations, and is able to earn trust and influence across a high level of seniority.

- Customer Understanding: Serve as Voice of the Customer by generalizing requirements from diverse customer personas and use cases. Work backward from customer needs, interact directly with customers, and conduct customer/market research to inform strategic decisions

- Product Strategy & Decision-Making: Define vision (PR/FAQ), problem statement, tenets, and strategy. Own roadmap and priorities. Reason from first principles, distinguish between one-way and two-way door decisions, and drive rapid experimentation

- Data-Informed Approach: Use data to drive decisions. Define success criteria, KPIs, and metrics. Analyze usage data, performance metrics, customer behavior, and market trends to inform roadmap investments

- Execution & Results Delivery: Drive meaningful outcomes across customer experience, business growth, and operational excellence. Engage with customers throughout the lifecycle — from concept through delivery to adoption and optimization

- Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive communications with customers, engineers, and cross-functional partners. Influence without authority, building alignment across teams. Drive product discussions with senior managers and Directors regularly

A day in the life You will take end-to-end product ownership. You dive deep into both the business and customer perspective, working with cross-functional partners to define, build, launch and grow products and services. You develop business and product requirements, prioritize needs, and manage milestones and overall roadmap. You write strategic narratives and make crisp decisions about what projects move forward and in what priority.

Basic Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in, or completed a full-time MBA program within 24 months. - 3+ years of full-time industry work experience. - Business level fluency in English (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications: - Business level fluency in Japanese (N1+). - 4+ years of work experience prior to your MBA - Experience in product management, strategy consulting, business development, or related fields - Demonstrated ability to define product vision, set strategy, and drive cross-functional execution - Track record of using data to drive decisions and working backward from customer needs - Comfortable working in ambiguous environments where problem, opportunity, and strategy may not be fully defined
