🚀 Project Overview
This role embeds within a core Financial Data and Business Intelligence product team, serving as the subject-matter expert across Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) domains for an enterprise platform. Acting with a proactive "hunter" mindset at the intersection of Sales, Legal, Accounting, and Product, you will identify operational friction points across the revenue lifecycle and convert them into high-impact data products, automated BI dashboards, and enterprise AI/ML analytics solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial data strategy to optimize downstream decision-making.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Outreach & Gap Mapping: Actively build relationships across internal Financial Systems (FinSys) teams—including Orders, Invoicing, Billing, Legal, and Finance leadership—to identify process gaps and map operational friction points.
- Data Product Strategy & Discovery: Connect operational pain points directly to Business Intelligence (BI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI opportunities, articulating the business rationale behind financial data needs.
- Requirements & Specifications Authoring: Author clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), functional specifications, and strategic roadmaps, translating complex business needs into non-technical requirements for Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs) and data engineering teams.
- Cross-Domain Process Alignment: Ensure complex Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes—including quoting, deal structuring, billing, entitlement, and revenue recognition—are accurately modeled within downstream data and analytics products.
- Data Validation & Reporting: Validate pricing, order, and contract data to build operational dashboards, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and support core enterprise business reporting.
💡 Must-Have Skills
- 5+ Years of FinSys PM Experience: Solid background in Product Management within Financial Systems (FinSys BI), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Quote-to-Cash (Q2C), or Revenue Operations in SaaS/Tech environments.
- Financial & Accounting Expertise: Deep understanding of core accounting concepts, billing systems, entitlements, contract lifecycles, and downstream revenue recognition rules (specifically ASC 606 impacts).
- System Data Flows: Strong understanding of how enterprise data flows from ERP platforms (Workday, NetSuite, SAP) and CPQ/CLM tools (Salesforce CPQ, Zuora, Conga, Icertis, DocuSign CLM, Ironclad) into centralized BI platforms.
- Analytical & Functional Design Skills: Proven track record in data validation, process mapping, user storytelling, and writing clear functional requirements (PRDs).
- Cross-Functional Communication: High-energy, proactive approach to engaging busy finance, legal, product, and sales stakeholders to align on process maps and data requirements.
- Agile & Remote Experience: Demonstrated experience working effectively in Agile teams and remote, distributed environments.
- Fluent English: Native or professional bilingual fluency for all daily written and spoken communication.
🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills
- Modern Data & AI Literacy: Conceptual understanding of modern data stack architecture and practical business applications of GenAI, LLMs, or predictive ML models within corporate finance.
- High-Volume SaaS/Marketplace Experience: Previous experience working within high-volume marketplaces or enterprise sales operations handling complex deal structures.
- Contract Analytics & Process Optimization: Experience in contract analytics, obligation tracking, or process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma) applied to financial platforms.
