In Search Places, we sit at the center of this transformation. We power how users discover, evaluate, and act on information about the physical world—from finding a restaurant to making high-confidence decisions that impact their daily lives. Our work spans classic search and emerging AI-native experiences, with a clear ambition: to build systems that don’t just retrieve information but enable decisions and complete journeys.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Search Places team to help define the future of how people discover and engage with places across traditional Search and AI experiences. Working closely with teams across MAI, you will shape how we deliver relevant, high-quality places results across these surfaces, with the opportunity to make a significant impact on how users navigate and interact with the world around them.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • You will define and own the roadmap for AI experiences in Search and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define the next generation experiences.
  • You will influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas across divisions. You’ll also identify long-term investment opportunities and engaging partners to garner support for those feature areas.
  • You will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in multiple areas.
  • You will drive cross-org alignment in a highly matrixed environment.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development• OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development• OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Search and Relevance systems.
  • Experience using large-scale datasets to identify quality gaps and inform product decisions.
  • Experience defining and driving API-based grounding products.
  • Experience defining product strategy, making complex product decisions, and applying product judgment and systems thinking.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
