Capital Works Delivery Manager
Lead Croydon’s Capital Delivery Team to deliver safe, high-quality homes and estates.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Capital Works Delivery Manager to provide strategic leadership to Croydon’s construction and surveying teams. This is a pivotal role in delivering major repairs, building improvements, and cyclical maintenance programmes that directly impact the safety, quality, and sustainability of our housing stock.
About the role
- Lead and manage the Capital Delivery Team, including surveyors, project managers, assistant project managers and clerks of works.
- Deliver a customer-focused programme of major repairs, improvements, and cyclical works across Croydon’s housing stock.
- Oversee the planning, procurement, and contract management of capital projects (£25m plus).
- Ensure works comply with statutory processes, safety regulations, and council policies.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across construction and surveying services.
About you
- Professional qualification in building construction management/RICS or CIOB (e.g. Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent).
- Strong leadership and management experience in housing construction or capital works.
- Proven experience in contract management, budget monitoring, and project delivery at scale.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with residents, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Strong financial awareness with the ability to deliver value for money and identify efficiencies.
- A proactive, solution-focused leader who can drive performance and manage change.
