Fiber Cement Siding Project Manager

Position: Fiber Cement Siding Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Approximately 50%

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Cement Siding Project Manager to oversee commercial and/or multifamily siding projects from preconstruction through final completion. This position requires a highly knowledgeable siding professional who understands fiber cement installation, project sequencing, subcontractor management, quality control, and jobsite operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of relevant construction/project management experience and a high degree of technical knowledge of siding systems, particularly fiber cement products and installation methods.

This is a hands-on project management role requiring approximately 50% travel to jobsites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fiber cement siding projects from initial planning through completion and closeout.
  • Coordinate project schedules, manpower, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, shop drawings, and project requirements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of fiber cement siding installation requirements, details, flashing, weather barriers, trims, penetrations, clearances, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure field installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer requirements, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and inspections to monitor production, workmanship, safety, and schedule performance.
  • Identify potential installation or construction issues and develop practical solutions before they impact the project.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, owners, superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Manage material procurement and deliveries to ensure projects remain properly supplied.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, material usage, change orders, and overall job profitability.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and project documentation.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for workmanship, production, schedule, safety, and jobsite cleanliness.
  • Provide regular project updates to company leadership.
  • Manage project closeout, including punch-list completion and final acceptance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of construction experience, preferably involving siding, exterior cladding, building envelope, or related scopes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing siding installation projects.
  • High degree of technical knowledge of siding systems and installation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber cement siding, including proper installation methods and manufacturer requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, details, and scopes of work.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, flashing, moisture management, weather-resistant barriers, and exterior envelope details.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and field crews effectively.
  • Strong scheduling, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with general contractors, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Comfortable working independently and making field-level decisions.
  • Proficiency with standard construction/project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with James Hardie or comparable fiber cement siding systems.
  • Commercial and/or multifamily construction experience.
  • Experience managing multiple siding projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of estimating, takeoffs, purchasing, and project cost management.
  • Familiarity with additional exterior cladding and building-envelope systems.

The successful Fiber Cement Siding Project Manager will combine strong technical siding knowledge with disciplined project management. This person will be comfortable walking a jobsite, identifying improper installation details, communicating expectations to subcontractors, resolving field conditions, and managing the financial and scheduling responsibilities of the project.
