As a Direct Materials Productivity Manager here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for driving productivity improvements and cost efficiencies in the direct materials supply chain. Your role will focus on optimizing procurement strategies, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support manufacturing and operational objectives. You will leverage your expertise in supply chain management and data analytics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancement, contributing directly to Honeywell’s competitive advantage and profitability.
You will report directly to the Senior Director Procurement for Process Automation and you’ll work out from one our India locations (Bangalore/Hyderabed/Pune) on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact Honeywell’s operational efficiency by leading initiatives that improve material cost productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen supplier partnerships. Your leadership will ensure that material availability aligns with production demands while maintaining cost targets and quality standards, thereby supporting the company’s overall business goals.
Your role also include overseeing, supervising and reviewing tasks performed by team members to ensure effective execution of work; managing end to end processes and project for both internal and external clients with responsibility for timely accurate delivery; issuing clear instructions and directions to team members on task to be performed; and monitoring and guiding junior colleagues to support their skills development, professional growth, and overall success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement direct materials productivity strategies aligned with business objectives to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Responsible for execution of productivity projects and achieving Gross Productivity and Net Productivity Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets
- Responsible for developing a pipeline of productivity projects working cross-functionally with strategic sourcing, factory operations, engineering, offering management and suppliers globally
- Responsible for achieving the productivity targets for all the levers i.e. Negotiations, Value Engineering, Component Engineering, Rebates and Deflation with the objective of achieving Gross Productivity and Net Productivity targets
- Analyze procurement data and supplier performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Analyze spend receipts data and find opportunities for cost savings working closely with supplier sourcing leaders and procurement operations
- Collaborate closely with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize material specifications, sourcing strategies, and inventory management.
- Lead supplier engagement initiatives to improve cost competitiveness.
- Manage cross-functional projects focused on waste reduction, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to direct materials productivity and cost savings to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance supply chain processes.
- Support the development and deployment of procurement tools and technologies to improve data visibility and decision-making.
- Mentor and develop team members to build capabilities in materials productivity and supply chain excellence.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in direct materials productivity or supply chain management roles.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to driving change.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
