The Role
The System Administrator will be responsible for managing the Oracle MICROS POS ecosystem, ensuring system reliability, resolving technical issues promptly, optimizing system performance, and supporting business users across all Charlie’s Corp branches. The successful candidate will also develop and deliver user training, provide technical recommendations to improve operational efficiency, and be available to respond to emergency system issues outside normal working hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support the Oracle MICROS POS system across all company branches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and POS-related issues within agreed service levels.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
- Configure and maintain menus, products, pricing, promotions, user roles, permissions, and security settings.
- Ensure data integrity, system backups, software updates, and preventive maintenance are carried out regularly.
- Diagnose and resolve system failures while minimizing operational downtime.
- Develop user manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and training materials for Oracle MICROS users.
- Conduct onboarding and refresher training for branch managers, supervisors, cashiers, and other system users.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Branch Managers and Management Teams on the effective utilization of the POS system.
- Work closely with Finance and Operations teams to support reporting and business requirements.
- Prepare regular system health, maintenance, incident, and performance reports.
- Maintain detailed records of support requests, system changes, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with Oracle MICROS support and third-party vendors when escalation is required.
- Supportsystemupgrades, integrations, testing, and implementation of new features.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
- Be available to respond to critical system emergencies during evenings, weekends, public holidays, and other periods outside normal working hours.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience administering Oracle MICROS POS systems within the hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or retail industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in Oracle MICROS configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support.
- Experience with POS networking, databases, Windows operating systems, and peripheral devices is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications in Oracle MICROS, networking, or related technologies will be an added advantage.
