Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate whose primary responsibilities will be coding, debugging and testing of embedded firmware application designated for Renesas MCUs, candidate will be reporting to Manager, MCU Application Engineering in Taiwan or Japan.
Key Responsibilities
•Application engineering to provide exceptional technical support to customers using Renesas MCU products
•Play a hands-on role to understand and articulate MCU solutions and value proposition that meet customer's needs
•Determine customer requirements and expectations and proactively recommend products and solutions needed to develop their end user applications
•Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ (bare‑metal or RTOS)
•Develop Proof-of-Concept solutions to showcase capabilities of Renesas MCU products
•Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and BU engineering teams to support design‑ins and customer escalations
•Serve as a technical expert on MCU products, providing guidance and training to internal teams and customers as needed
•Manage customer escalations and coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues in a timely manner
•Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to provide insights and recommendations in engineering for MCU product roadmap
Qualifications
•BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent (MS preferred)
•8+ years of professional industry experience in embedded systems
•Strong experience in embedded MCU firmware development (C/C++)
Preferred Skills
•Foundational understanding of CPU architecture and electronic circuits
•RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Azure RTOS, etc.)
•Solid understanding of MCU peripherals and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, PMBus, CAN, Ethernet)
•Experience in IoT connectivity, server protocols, and security applications
•Good analytical and problem-solving skills
•Prior AE / FAE or customer‑facing engineering experience
•Comfortable engaging with customers, primarily in Taiwan, while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders in APAC
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
•Good English communication skills; proactive, agile, and results-oriented mindset
