Why this role matters

Connect is built on real delivery and the Product Manager is the engine behind it. This role supports the Product Head in producing the best product, directing how it's built and developed across its full life cycle, and working closely with the Software Development Manager and teams on what gets built and when.

In this role, you'll take front-end ownership of Connects full channel suite the app, Nova, USSD, IVR and self-service and lead the people, partnerships and delivery plans that bring it all to life.

What you'll do

  • Own the front-end delivery of Connects channel suite from end to end
  • Lead and coordinate front-end developers, UI and UX teams across all Connect touchpoints
  • Work at tactical and operational levels, contribute to product strategy and business planning, and integrate business and technical product segments to achieve objectives, delivery and targets
  • Manage delivery of provisioning, vouchers, order management and bundle products
  • Ensure the front-end integrates correctly with APIs and backend capabilities
  • Author documents across the product life cycle, including business plans, product roadmaps, business cases, requirements and functional specifications
  • Use data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, measure success and validate products through client feedback
  • Align initiatives and projects to our broader strategy and achieve goals through cross-functional teams, including remote and hybrid setups

What you'll need

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree
  • Ideal: Honours Degree

Experience (minimum)

  • At least 8 years' management experience at senior level in product development or as a product manager/owner, with 5+ years managing, developing and delivering a product
  • Career experience that includes time in one or more technical roles, and a track record of communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Working knowledge of APIs, front-end technologies and Java-based environments
  • Experience coordinating UI/UX teams and managing end-to-end technical delivery
  • Experience scoping and running usability studies and/or client research
  • Business development experience in a banking or financial landscape

Knowledge (minimum)

  • Telco or MVNO industry experience (beneficial but not essential)
