Full description

Scope:

  • To work with the team (with guidance from a senior manager) to meet the objectives and deliverables of the team. Is expected to maintain focus and provide clear expectations to the team members, be the champion for the project within the team, demand excellence from team members, and support team members in their personal development. Keeps team members and stakeholders informed of key developments, issues, risks to the project and reports any project and people escalations in a timely manner.

Current Technical Environment:

  • Software/Tools: Java, Spring Boot, Groovy, GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, GitHub Advanced Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.
  • Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, Event-Driven, Secure Multi-Tenant Microservices Architecture
  • Cloud Architecture: Microsoft Azure (ARM Templates, AKS, Virtual Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
  • Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NoSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake

What You'll Do: 

As a SaaS DevOps Engineer at the P1 level, you will be responsible for deploying and monitoring microservices, ensuring that solutions run efficiently within agreed SLAs, and supporting the implementation team.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Seamless Application Support to Blue Yonder Customers

  • Resolve customer cases, primarily low/medium severity, with occasional high/critical cases, demonstrating end-to-end ownership.
  • Address internal proactive monitoring cases generated by Blue Yonder internal tools.
  • Attend case quality training, ensuring adherence to SLA/SLO and quality practices.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction through ownership, engagement, and proactiveness.
  • Work under supervision from leads or mentors, constantly seeking guidance for quality improvement.
  • Expected to work in shifts and provide out-of-hours support for 24x7 customer support.

b) Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with customers.
  • Collaborate passionately and respectfully with various Blue Yonder teams and partners.
  • Display professionalism and empathy during internal and external conversations, appreciating cultural differences.

c) Building Competency

  • Technical:
  • Develop basic skills in DBMS (e.g., SQL, Oracle) to write database queries and procedures for application support.
  • Gain experience in code debugging and platform support engineering (e.g., API and/or Mulesoft integration troubleshooting).
  • Troubleshoot mobile application issues.
  • Build basic skills in contemporary SaaS technical toolsets like AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Product and Domain:
  • Attend product boot camps to learn standard product features for resolving non-complex issues.
  • Acquire basic domain knowledge to understand customer business processes.
  • Solution Architecture:
  • Understand different cloud models (private, public, hybrid).
  • Learn about solution architecture and application deployment frameworks.
  • Familiarize with Azure concepts including:• Native SaaS or containerized applications, Kubernetes
  • Azure deployment models (e.g., serverless/PAAS, scale set, ASR)
  • Azure automations and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins)
  • Engage in application health monitoring using M&D tools.
  • Proactively identify and resolve application availability issues using defined resolution methods.
  • Behavioral:
  • Develop a service mindset, consistently displaying customer-centricity and ownership.
  • Seek regular performance feedback and focus on self-development.
  • Proactively identify learning opportunities.

d) Value Addition

  • Contribute to Knowledge Centered Support (KCS) by:
  • Creating quality articles with minimal guidance from leads or mentors.
  • Leveraging existing articles to provide faster resolutions to solution issues.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements (e.g., automation, process changes).
  • Proactively discuss identified opportunities with leads or mentors.
  • Collaborate with others to implement and operationalize improvements.

What we are looking for:

  • 1 yearsof Exp with product and cloud architects to design automated pipelines to support SaaS delivery and operations in Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Hands-on experience and/or significant familiarity with Cloud and automation tools/technologies such as (all not required): Microsoft, Google, Amazon CI/CD tool suites; IaaS, PaaS, SaaS tool suites; other tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub/BitBucket, Artifactory, Maven, Docker & Kubernetes, etc. 
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated hands-on experience with collaboration tools (any 2) JIRA, Confluence, visualization tools (Lucid Charts, Visio), Office Suite and SharePoint. 
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident management, Request fulfillment, Change management, RCAs)
  • Experience in shell scripting (unix, python)
  • Proficiency in JIRA, , or similar Agile lifecycle tools; solid understanding of and demonstrated hands-on experience in using Agile Project Management tools 
  • Work with company personnel to define technical problems and requirements, determine solutions, and implement those solutions.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering regarding product changes and enhancements.
  • Deploy and automate deployment as well as monitor the client solution; make sure the client environments are up 99.9999% of the time and meet the response time SLAs.
  • Plan upgrades and executes towards the goal of moving all the clients to the latest version of the software.
  • Make sure the deployments are secure and work with security team to harden the environments and fix any security vulnerabilities.
  • Inspires the team to become better at their craft and trains the team both technically and functionally.
  • Looks beyond the surface and fix the root causes rather than symptoms.
