Summary: The Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in understanding and analyzing business processes, identifying system requirements, and implementing solutions that enhance business operations and performance. This position works closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure that systems and applications meet the needs of the organization while improving efficiency and reducing costs. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead efforts in the analysis, design, and implementation of software systems, as well as provide ongoing support to ensure that business systems remain optimal.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business systems analysis or a related field.
- Proven experience with system implementation, process improvement, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
- Strong understanding of business operations and technology, and ability to translate business requirements into system specifications.
- Experience with enterprise applications and business intelligence tools is preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis and data management, including experience with SQL, Excel, and reporting tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Work with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for business systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Document business processes, functional requirements, and system specifications to provide clear direction for system development and enhancement.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit business needs and define system functionality.
- Analyze business workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement through system solutions.
System Design and Implementation:
- Lead system design activities, ensuring that solutions are tailored to meet the specific business needs and adhere to technical requirements.
- Work with developers and technical teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications for system enhancements or new systems.
- Oversee the implementation of new systems and ensure proper integration with existing business processes and technology.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support the configuration, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
Support and Continuous Improvement:
- Provide ongoing support for business systems and applications, resolving any issues or challenges identified by users.
- Monitor the performance of systems and applications, identifying opportunities to enhance functionality and improve user experience.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of system implementations and make recommendations for improvements.
- Train business users on new systems and ensure that proper documentation is maintained for ongoing support.
Project Management and Collaboration:
- Lead or support cross-functional teams in the successful execution of business systems projects, ensuring that all milestones are met and that projects stay within scope and budget.
- Provide regular status updates to senior management on project progress and timelines.
- Collaborate with other departments, including IT, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and integration of business systems.
Data and Reporting:
- Use data analysis techniques to evaluate business data and support decision-making.
- Design and create reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence tools to provide real-time insights into business performance.
- Ensure that systems provide accurate and actionable data to drive business decisions.
