Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Construction

About the Role

BLVD Electric Inc., a commercial electrical contractor with 150+ employees serving projects across California, is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Management and Field Operations teams. This role helps keep commercial electrical construction projects organized and moving from planning through closeout, working closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, general contractors, vendors, and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct project coordination and support to assigned Project Managers
  • Track project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and open items through to resolution
  • Prepare, submit, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence
  • Maintain accurate project logs and files, including drawings, specifications, and approvals
  • Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, including purchase orders, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and general contractors to ensure timely project delivery
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and safety compliance
  • Assist with change order pricing, backup documentation, and cost/schedule impact tracking
  • Support project billing, schedule-of-values, and closeout documentation, including punch lists and as-builts
  • Prepare meeting notes, status reports, and project updates for stakeholders and senior management

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of construction project management experience, preferably in electrical or MEP trades
  • Procore proficiency is required; familiarity with Bluebeam or similar construction software a plus
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Ability to work on-site in Woodland Hills, CA and travel to job sites as needed

Pay

$20.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
