About the role

Every Nubank office runs on an IT Room that most people never see. Power distribution, cooling, structured cabling and fiber are the layer that keeps thousands of Nubankers connected and working — and when that layer fails, entire sites stop.

Nubank's office portfolio is growing across countries, and today each site has been built to its own standard. The ETS team owns the physical layer of these environments — structured cabling, optical fiber and, in partnership with other teams, power distribution, HVAC, fire protection and physical security systems. This role exists to bring one engineering standard to all of them.

As Lead Infrastructure Engineer for Global Office IT Physical Infra, you are the technical reference for IT Room infrastructure across Nubank's global office portfolio. You assess and size environments, define the technical specifications new sites and expansions must meet, and coordinate the vendors and construction teams who build them — so that an IT Room in Miami, São Paulo or Mexico City is built, documented and operated the same way.

This is a senior individual contributor role with technical authority rather than direct reports. You set the standard, you review the projects against it, and you catch the gaps before they become outages.

You'll be responsible for

  • Assessing and sizing IT Rooms for expansion and improvement projects, defining the technical and physical specifications that meet real capacity needs, optimize resource use, and hold to operational standards.
  • Executing deployment projects for new environments and expansions in compliance with established technical specifications, and coordinating deployment logistics end to end while ensuring quality standards throughout.
  • Acting as the interface between internal teams and external vendors — translating business needs into infrastructure requirements, work orders and technical specifications — and managing those vendors and service providers to quality, deadline and compliance with Nubank's standards.
  • Coordinating with construction and engineering teams during the build-out of new offices, ensuring IT Room specifications are met from the earliest project phases rather than retrofitted later.
  • Creating and maintaining clear, current technical documentation — standards, procedures, capacity plans, topology diagrams, bayfaces — so that every site is aligned and auditable.
  • Ensuring alignment between physical infrastructure and IT operations, including cabling changes, equipment installation, capacity planning and structured cabling terminations.
  • Driving continuous improvement in the availability, resilience and efficiency of IT Room physical infrastructure: HVAC, structured cabling, optical fiber, power distribution, generators, UPS units and fire protection.
  • Supporting the assessment of the global IT Room portfolio across corporate offices, identifying gaps and standardization opportunities across multiple sites and countries.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Solid experience with mission-critical environment infrastructure, including the deployment and operation of physical infrastructure in corporate offices or data center facilities.
  • Strong hands-on command of mission-critical infrastructure systems: HVAC and air conditioning, structured cabling, optical fiber, low-voltage power distribution, UPS units, generators, and fire detection and suppression.
  • Proven experience coordinating deployment projects that run structured cabling, electrical, mechanical and civil scopes simultaneously.
  • Experience managing vendors and service providers on infrastructure projects from technical specification through execution and acceptance.
  • A consistent track record of creating and maintaining clear technical documentation for infrastructure standards, procedures and projects.
  • A completed degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical background.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model and to travel internationally to Nubank office locations for site assessments and deployments.
