Full description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer (SDET) based in Brazil.

As a Senior SDET, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of large-scale data platforms supporting critical benefits-related services. You will design and implement automated testing strategies that operate at scale and integrate seamlessly into modern CI/CD pipelines. Working across front-end, back-end, APIs, databases, and data pipelines, you will identify risks and build robust solutions that prevent defects from reaching production. You will partner closely with engineers, product managers, QA specialists, data engineers, and technical leaders to embed quality into the development lifecycle from the start. The role combines hands-on automation engineering with framework evolution, performance testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis. You will contribute to fast feedback cycles across frequent code submissions while helping establish a strong culture of shared quality ownership. This is a remote opportunity suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and continuously improving testing practices.

Accountabilities

  • Analyze front-end and back-end systems to identify quality, reliability, performance, and scalability risks.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain automated testing solutions capable of operating at large scale.
  • Build and execute automated test cases covering functional behavior, regression scenarios, integrations, data processing, and service reliability.
  • Perform integration testing across APIs, databases, flat files, and other system interfaces.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during requirements definition and technical design reviews to incorporate automation and testability into new features from the beginning.
  • Evaluate existing test automation frameworks and identify opportunities to improve their reliability, maintainability, coverage, and scalability.
  • Research, recommend, and implement modern automation tools, techniques, and testing approaches.
  • Maintain and enhance automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid and reliable feedback on code submissions.
  • Perform performance testing and help identify bottlenecks or reliability issues across services and data-processing workflows.
  • Investigate defects, debug complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support incident and SLA management activities.
  • Identify quality issues affecting data collection, storage, processing, and downstream data pipelines.
  • Champion quality ownership across engineering teams and promote effective QA methodologies and automation best practices.
  • Clearly communicate technical findings, risks, recommendations, and testing results to both technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as an SDET, Automation QA Engineer, or Software Engineer with significant testing and automation responsibilities.
  • Strong professional programming experience with C#, Python, or Go.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and software engineering practices.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments.
