Description

WHO WE ARE

Johnson Health Tech is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing fitness equipment manufacturers, delivering innovative solutions that help people live healthier lives. Through our award-winning portfolio of commercial and residential brands, we serve customers in more than 60 countries worldwide.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the VP of R&D, the Digital Product Manager will help build the hearing aid company’s digital hearing ecosystem from the ground up. This hands-on individual contributor will define, test, and deliver digital experiences that connect hearing devices, hearing care professionals, and patients, working face-to-face with Software Engineering, R&D, UI/UX, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Marketing, and Sales. The role will be actively involved in daily execution, including defining requirements, prioritizing features, reviewing builds, testing solutions, gathering feedback, and making clear product decisions. Success requires prescription hearing aid experience, comfort operating without legacy products or established playbooks, and the resourcefulness to build practical solutions with a lean team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Digital Product Leadership and Execution:

  • Own day-to-day product direction, decisions, roadmap, backlog, and measurable outcomes for assigned digital hearing solutions.
  • Work side-by-side with Software Engineering and R&D to define requirements, review builds frequently, test solutions, and resolve product questions.
  • Make timely trade-offs involving customer and clinical value, usability, technical feasibility, compliance, cost, timing, quality, and risk.
  • Create and maintain workflows, user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities, and clear decision documentation.

End-to-End Hearing Experience:

  • Define digital experiences across mobile apps, fitting or clinician software, firmware, cloud services, APIs, remote care, analytics, and device connectivity.
  • Partner closely with the Hearing Devices Product Manager where features span hardware, firmware, software, and cloud services.
  • Ensure individual digital products work together as a coherent experience for hearing care professionals and patients.
  • Challenge legacy workflows and identify simpler, more intuitive ways to support prescription hearing care.

Discovery, Testing, and Delivery:

  • Conduct customer discovery, workflow research, usability testing, field evaluations, and concept validation.
  • Review working software throughout development and participate directly in testing rather than waiting for completed releases.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Quality, Privacy, and Cybersecurity on documentation, validation, risk management, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate launch and release readiness with Marketing, Sales, Training, Customer Support, and regional teams.

Performance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Track activation, adoption, engagement, task completion, reliability, support trends, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use analytics, customer feedback, and defect trends to prioritize improvements and inform product decisions.
  • Support incident response, release decisions, product changes, deprecation, and end-of-life planning.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Complete required training and ongoing education.
  • Perform other duties and startup initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, human-computer interaction, audiology, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree in business, technology, engineering, audiology, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in digital product management, product ownership, software product, UX, clinical technology, or a related role, including direct experience in the prescription hearing aid industry.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering mobile applications, connected hearing devices, fitting or clinician software, cloud platforms, or related regulated digital health products.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams from discovery through release, testing, adoption, and continuous improvement.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site in Minnetonka, MN and collaborate face-to-face with Software Engineering, R&D, and cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of prescription hearing aids, fitting workflows, hearing care professionals, patient needs, and device connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of agile delivery, backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, release planning, mobile apps, APIs, cloud services, analytics, privacy, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with regulated software development, accessibility, HIPAA/privacy, quality systems, and global regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% for customer research, product testing, launches, trade shows, clinical visits, and collaboration with global teams.
