Position Summary

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering Manager to lead and support engineering projects within our Energy group. This role will provide technical leadership, project oversight, and team management across a variety of energy and industrial projects, including power generation facilities, natural gas compressor stations, LNG facilities, gas processing facilities, and other midstream and downstream infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a senior I&C professional with strong technical expertise, project experience, and leadership capabilities who can work directly with clients, lead multidisciplinary teams, and help grow and develop the I&C engineering practice.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage I&C engineering teams across multiple projects and clients
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to I&C engineers and designers
  • Serve as a key technical and client-facing leader throughout project execution
  • Coordinate I&C activities with electrical, mechanical, civil, process, and other engineering disciplines
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables
  • Develop engineering scopes, design approaches, studies, and project estimates
  • Develop instrumentation and control system specifications and procurement documentation
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, technical bids, and equipment selections
  • Troubleshoot complex I&C and controls engineering issues and provide practical solutions
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, technical discussions, and project presentations
  • Support business development activities, proposals, and development of new client relationships
  • Conduct field walkdowns, site assessments, construction support, equipment installations, commissioning, and start-up activities as needed
  • Help establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and quality expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution, technical capabilities, and team performance
  • Travel periodically to client and project sites as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or another relevant engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of professional I&C engineering experience
  • Experience leading I&C engineering projects, teams, or departments
  • Experience supporting power generation, oil & gas, midstream, downstream, LNG, natural gas, gas processing, or other industrial energy projects
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation, controls, control systems, and I&C engineering design
  • Experience with engineering design, equipment specifications, procurement, vendor coordination, and field support
  • Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate technical activities across disciplines
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and client-management skills
  • Ability to travel to project and client sites as needed
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
