Associate Data Analyst

Location: Remote Clearance Level: Active Secret

Overview

Rackner is seeking an Associate Data Analyst to support the development, modernization, and maintenance of enterprise analytics and business intelligence solutions using Power BI and governed data sources within the Microsoft Fabric environment.

The Associate Data Analyst will develop dashboards, reports, semantic models, and data visualizations supporting education, workforce, financial, procurement, and operational analytics. This role will work with senior analysts, data engineers, governance teams, and Government stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable and user-friendly analytics products.

The Associate Data Analyst will also support dashboard migration, requirements gathering, documentation, training materials, and self-service analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI
  • Build analytics products using governed data sources from the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse
  • Build and maintain semantic models supporting standardized enterprise reporting
  • Develop calculated measures, KPIs, and reusable analytical logic using DAX
  • Use Power Query to prepare, transform, and validate data for analytics products
  • Support implementation and maintenance of row-level security and workspace access controls
  • Assist with dashboard and report migration from legacy environments to the modernized analytics platform
  • Validate migrated dashboards to ensure data accuracy, functionality, and alignment with user requirements
  • Develop and maintain analytics products supporting areas such as:
  • Student outcomes and performance
  • Assessment analytics
  • Enrollment and demographic trends
  • HR and workforce analytics
  • Financial reporting
  • Procurement and acquisition analysis
  • Operational and administrative reporting
  • Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation to identify inconsistencies or reporting issues
  • Support development and maintenance of KPI frameworks and standardized reporting definitions
  • Assist with self-service analytics enablement for business and operational users
  • Support evaluation of Copilot-assisted analytics and other AI-enabled business intelligence capabilities
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with Government and business stakeholders
  • Document current-state reporting processes, data needs, and analytical requirements
  • Translate stakeholder needs into analytics use cases, process flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Support user acceptance testing and validation of dashboards and reporting products
  • Develop user documentation, quick-reference guides, training materials, and other supporting documentation
  • Assist with analytics demonstrations, training sessions, and user adoption activities
  • Collaborate with Senior Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Governance Specialists, and source-system owners to resolve reporting and data issues
  • Support troubleshooting of dashboard, semantic model, data quality, and access-control issues
  • Maintain documentation for reports, data sources, business logic, KPIs, and analytics processes
  • Follow established analytics, governance, visualization, and data quality standards

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
  • Working knowledge of DAX and calculated measures
  • Experience with Power Query or comparable data transformation tools
  • SQL proficiency for querying, validating, and analyzing data
  • Experience developing reports for diverse technical and non-technical user audiences
  • Understanding of data visualization and dashboard design principles
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends, inconsistencies, and reporting issues
  • Experience gathering or documenting business and reporting requirements
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience working with Fabric Lakehouse data sources
  • Experience building or maintaining Power BI semantic models
  • Familiarity with row-level security and Power BI workspace permissions
  • Experience supporting dashboard migrations or reporting modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with education data, student information systems, or education analytics
  • Familiarity with federal reporting requirements or Government data environments
  • Experience with student outcomes, assessment, enrollment, HR, financial, or procurement analytics
  • Familiarity with self-service analytics concepts
  • Exposure to Copilot-assisted analytics or other AI-enabled business intelligence tools
  • Experience developing user guides, training materials, or analytics documentation
