Cloud Network Engineer

Seeking an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to support the design, administration, security, and optimization of multi-cloud infrastructure environments. This role will focus on cloud networking operations across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), while providing critical support for Palo Alto network security technologies.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in cloud-native networking, firewall administration, hybrid connectivity, network security, and enterprise cloud operations. This individual will work closely with cloud architects, security teams, infrastructure engineers, and agency stakeholders to support expanding cloud modernization initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Network OperationsManage and support networking services across:Amazon Web Services (AWS)Microsoft AzureGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)Configure and maintain:Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)Virtual Networks (VNets)Route tablesNetwork peeringLoad balancersNetwork gatewaysDNS servicesMonitor and optimize cloud network performance and availability.Troubleshoot connectivity issues across cloud and hybrid environments.Palo Alto Network Security AdministrationAdminister Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls using Panorama.Develop and maintain firewall policies and security rules.Support secure connectivity between state agencies, cloud environments, and on-premises infrastructure.Analyze and remediate security findings, vulnerabilities, and network incidents.Collaborate with enterprise security teams to ensure compliance with state security standards.Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure SupportMaintain secure cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-datacenter connectivity.Support VPN, IPSec tunnel, and routing implementations.Assist with migration initiatives from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.Implement network segmentation and zero-trust security principles where appropriate.One or more of the following certifications are highly desirable:Cloud CertificationsAWS Certified Advanced Networking SpecialtyAWS Solutions Architect Associate or ProfessionalMicrosoft Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)Google Professional Cloud Network EngineerSecurity CertificationsPalo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)Palo Alto Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)CISSPCCNP SecurityNetworking CertificationsCCNP EnterpriseCCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (Preferred)The ideal candidate is a cloud networking professional who combines deep networking expertise with hands-on operational experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
