What does a Senior Project Manager do at WPP Production?
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mid to Senior Delivery Project Manager to join our fast-paced, innovative WPP Production team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of complex digital advertising campaigns, media assets, and production projects, with a strong emphasis on Google Ads platforms and related tools. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, highly organized, and possesses a solution-focused mindset, capable of driving projects forward in an environment where AI and innovation are central to our success. You will be the linchpin connecting creative, production, and client teams, transforming strategic goals into tangible, high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign & Media Delivery Expertise: Lead the delivery of a diverse range of advertising campaigns, including display, video, search, and social, ensuring all assets meet technical specifications and brand guidelines.
- Production Team Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between client-facing teams, creative studios, and technical production teams. Clearly communicate project requirements, timelines, and feedback to facilitate efficient workflow and resolve dependencies.
- Managing timelines and projects within programs: Managing multiple projects within programs, and ensuring the matrix of these projects are organized, well communicated, and managed for the internal teams to ensure seamless and high quality delivery.
- Google Ads Specialization: Act as a subject matter expert in the delivery of assets for Google Ads platforms (e.g., Google Search, Display Network, YouTube). Ensure optimal utilization of Google Ads tools and best practices throughout the production and delivery process.
- Proactive Problem Solving & Solutions: Consistently identify potential roadblocks, risks, and challenges before they impact project timelines or quality. Proactively develop and present viable solutions and alternatives, rather than just highlighting issues.
- Stakeholder Communication & Management: Maintain clear, concise, and regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate status updates, managing expectations, and escalating critical issues appropriately.
- Track and manage all operational needs for the projects and programs. Building asset trackers, owning status documents, implementing processes for seamless delivery. Translating client ways of working to internal teams at WPP Production.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Oversee the review process to ensure all deliverables meet Hogarth's quality standards, client specifications, and platform requirements, particularly for Google Ads.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize project management workflows, tools, and processes, contributing to increased efficiency and innovation within the team, particularly within our AI-driven environment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Project Management Acumen: Proven experience (6+ years) as a Mid to Senior Project Manager, ideally within a creative/marketing agency or digital production house.
- Campaign & Production Background: Extensive experience in managing the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns, digital media assets, and creative production projects.
- Google Ads & Tools Mastery: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Google Ads platforms and associated tools (e.g., Google Ads Editor, Google Web Designer, Google Analytics). Understanding of ad serving, tracking, and campaign setup.
- Solution-Focused & Proactive: A strong track record of identifying challenges and proactively bringing forward well-considered solutions, demonstrating foresight and initiative.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to build strong rapport and effectively liaise with diverse production teams and clients. Can clearly communicate complex information and project plans with clients and internal teams.
- Organizational Excellence: Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Privy to Google Workspace and tools: Ability to track, translate, and manage large scale production, planning and timelines, implementing organizational and operational templates and docs for the team. Have experience in implementing project management methodologies for an agency.
- Understanding of agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) adapted for creative production.
Desired Skills & Experiences:
- Experience with other major ad platforms (e.g., Facebook/Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager, programmatic platforms).
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and content management workflows.
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in marketing, ad optimization, or creative automation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
- Experience working with global or geographically distributed teams.
- A passion for marketing technology, digital innovation, and staying abreast of industry trends.
