What You Will Do:

Our consultants on the AI and Data Defense and Security team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data querying and wrangling to data engineering, to data visualization, dashboarding, and business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics. This individual will support mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They will support all phases of analytic development, from the strategic assessment and identification of opportunities to incorporate advanced analysis and automation, through requirements gathering, data collection, performing analyses to delivery actionable intelligence and support law enforcement efforts. This role requires hands on technical expertise and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess and recommend opportunities to incorporate advanced analysis and automation into current operations
  • Collecting, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing large datasets using tools such as Python, R, and SQL
  • Design and development of data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights using Power BI
  • Identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies to support investigative efforts and operational decision-making
  • Analyzing existing processes and identifying opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Summarizing and presenting results and recommendations through written reports and briefings
  • Balance competing priorities including to supporting quick turn and ad hoc requests

What You Will Need:

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS Public Trust
  • Bachelors Degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in data analytics, data science, business analytics or data engineering

What Would Be Nice to Have:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)" Federal or DoD security clearance. Once onboard with Guidehouse, new hire MUST be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Five (5) years of experience in data science and data analytics
  • Experience supporting law enforcement, intelligence, or investigative environments
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience with geospatial data and tools (e.g., ArcGIS)
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience conducting data validation, data quality assessments, and query optimization
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments (such as, Databricks, Palantir, AWS, Azure, or Google)
  • Experience conducting financial intelligence analysis, forensic accounting, open-source intelligence, and/or criminal investigations support
  • Familiarity with financial and/or cryptocurrency data analysis
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured investigative datasets
