Description

The Senior Manager of Quality Engineering within Information Technology will provide strategic leadership for the quality engineering organization, driving the vision, execution, and continuous evolution of enterprise quality practices across a portfolio of products, platforms, and technology initiatives. The position will lead multiple Quality Engineering teams and managers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that support business objectives and customer experience goals. 

This role is accountable for defining and governing enterprise quality engineering strategies, standards, frameworks, and operating models that enable modern software delivery. The position will partner closely with senior technology and business leaders to integrate quality throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), leveraging automation, AI-enabled quality engineering, observability, and data-driven insights to improve software reliability, accelerate delivery, and reduce operational risk. 

As a senior leader, this role will drive organizational quality transformation by advancing intelligent automation, continuous testing, predictive quality analytics, and engineering excellence practices across the enterprise. The position will oversee quality execution across large-scale programs and product portfolios while ensuring alignment with architectural standards, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and enterprise governance policies. 

The role will continuously evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and industry best practices, establishing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for developing organizational capabilities, optimizing engineering productivity, and championing quality as a strategic business enabler across the enterprise. 

  • Organizational Effectiveness / People: 
  • Lead multiple Quality Engineering teams and managers, providing strategic direction, talent development, workforce planning, and organizational leadership across a portfolio of products and platforms. 
  • Assess and align QA resource capacity, skillsets, and organizational structure to meet evolving testing demands, delivery priorities, and competency requirements. 
  • Application Delivery/Support: 
  • Define and execute enterprise quality engineering strategies, aligning quality objectives with business goals, product roadmaps, customer experience, and engineering transformation initiatives, ensuring a delightful experience for our customers. 
  • Oversee end-to-end quality assurance lifecycle execution, including test planning, execution, validation, and user acceptance support across multiple teams. 
  • Guide estimation, planning, and prioritization of testing efforts for new features, products, and platform capabilities. 
  • Oversee execution of test plans across teams, ensuring timely delivery, adequate test coverage, and proactive mitigation of risks to project timelines and deliverables. 
  • AI-Driven Innovation: 
  • Drive AI-powered quality transformation, implementing Generative AI, Agentic AI, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation to improve software quality, delivery speed, and engineering productivity at scale. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide quality practices, standards, frameworks, and metrics that ensure consistent quality outcomes across Agile, DevOps, in on-premises and cloud-native environments. 
  • Collaborate with development, product, and business stakeholders to support user acceptance testing, align validation criteria, and ensure business readiness for releases. 
  • Technical Execution and Guidance: 
  • Lead large-scale automation, continuous testing, and quality observability initiatives, integrating quality intelligence into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes, driving high standards for engineering excellence. 
  • Establish and govern defect management practices, including defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution processes, ensuring timely remediation and high-quality outcomes. 
  • High-Performance and Data-Driven: 
  • Monitor and optimize organizational performance through data-driven insights, leveraging quality metrics, AI effectiveness measures, operational KPIs, and customer outcomes to continuously improve software reliability and engineering efficiency. 
  • Identify and address systemic quality risks through proactive monitoring of testing progress, defect trends, and quality indicators, ensuring minimal impact to delivery timelines and product quality. 
  • Strategic Leadership and Guidance: 
  • Partner with senior technology and business leaders to influence investment decisions, manage quality risks, prioritize transformation initiatives, and drive measurable business outcomes. 

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:  

  • 5+ years of management experience in Quality Engineering or IT leadership related role 
  • 3+ years of experience implementing Test Automation framework 
  • 3+ years of experience in supporting release automation (CICD) and application performance testing

The base pay range for this role is $140,600.00 to $183,108.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
