Position Summary: The Engineer Manager for OWM reports to the Director of Manufacturing for OMW.  The position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day technical activities of the department. 

  • Products 
  • Set-up of new part specifications 
  • Compliance with customer specific and special characteristic requirements 
  • Set up of APQP document set  
  • Development of tool set for new parts 
  • Improvement of tool sets for existing parts 
  • Resolution of tool replated production and quality issues 
  • Processes 
  • Develop of new processes to facilitate introduction of additional product families. 
  • Assessment and selection of new equipment 
  • Design and implementation of machine modifications 
  • Customer Issues 
  • Advising on application related issues associated with customer quality concerns 
  • Advising on specification-related issues associated with customer quality concerns 

 

Areas of impact:

  • Managing quote process 
  • Set up quote process 
  • Complete initial feasibility review

  • Managing new part set up and APQP process 
  • Complete feasibility review, ensure all specification are understood and measurable.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing. 
  • Minimum 10 years’ fastener tool design experience.  
  • AIAG Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA 
  • IATF 16949 Internal or Lead Auditor highly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or material sciences.   
  • Inspection, Metrology, Metallurgical Analysis Interpretation.  
  • GD&T, Print Review, Understanding and interpretation of engineering specifications (IFI, ASME, etc). Fastener experience highly preferred.  
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience
